Best time to FP Kilimanjaro Safari?

We are heading to Disney for our first time. Is there a better time of day to FP the safari? Not sure it matters, but we will be there in mid December. Thanks in advance!

The late afternoon is great - not busy and many animals come out when it is cooler. They even like to play in the water after it rains.

Late afternoon meaning 3-4 ish?

yes - I would do another park in the AM, if you can, eat lunch, then go to AK in the afternoon

We went between 6pm and 7pm in August and it was great. We saw many more animals than we normally do going early in the morning. Since AK is still opened later it still wasn't a full day park - so we did something else in the morning.

I got an FP for 5:20-6:20. That should be around the hour when the sun is setting and it really adds to the atmosphere when you're doing the ride with little sunlight.
