We will be checking into BWV Friday, in a studio. We actually arrive in Disney late Thursday night and are staying at Downtown Disney for the night before moving to BWV. Does anyone have a suggestion on what time to arrive for check in? I thought I read recently about rooms actually being assigned now at the time of check in vs. a few days or so prior. If this is the case, I would venture to guess we should check in early to have a better shot at securing our requests like daybed in studio and boardwalk view?

Any help or “insider” info would be much appreciated as we fly out tomorrow night!

I'd check in during the morning. Last time we did the same thing you are doing and we checked in at 10:00 a.m. Our room wasn't ready until 4:00 pm, but that was no big deal as we left everything with bell services. And we did get our requests.

Thanks Granny....any other suggestions do's/dont's out there??

I'm curious, though -- when you check in that early (say, 8 am) and rooms aren't ready yet, so you walk off to do other things... don't you run the risk of getting the leftovers?

Or are you saying that at 8am, you will actually be told what room you will get, as soon as it's ready, so you know before you even leave exactly where you will be staying?

Or do you need to keep a vigil by the desk until they give you, with certainty, the keys to your villa?

THis whole "check in and leave" thing makes me nervous -- if some squeaky wheels come in behind me, I could get stuck with the leftovers while they scurry off with the cheese!

CK1...well, you can get that "squeaky wheel" at any time, so there's not much you can do about that.

When I checked in, I got the impression that the CM at the desk was "locking in" a room for me. He said it was not ready. It also was not ready at 1:00, 2:00 or 3:00 when I checked back (by phone....I didn't hang around the desk). But the fact that it wasn't ready made me think that they had a room "put aside" for us and were just waiting for it to be cleaned.

I'm sure that at some point, someone could have complained about their view, or something else and the room could have been pulled from us without us ever knowing it....they definitely would not tell me the room number in advance.

I think the CM's at check in do their best. And we're not all that picky about the room. We do put in requests and have liked all of our rooms and views, but we talk beforehand that no matter what we get, we'll be happy with it.

I'm wondering what to do with this new system they are using. If I do check-in early, can they assign me a villa with the view I want, and then can I wait for it? That's what we have done at other resorts.
