My girlfriend and I took a trip back in July and couldn't get enough. Now we are trying to go back for 7-8 days in mid January to go to Disney when crowds are lower and it's not so stinking hot.

We're looking to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort as it is the cheapest moderate at the time we will be there. Is this the best time to book for January are should we wait a little longer in hopes of better deals or anything of that nature? Thanks!

You can book now and if deals come out for your dates (speculations are that it will happen soon), you can call to add the discount pending availability. Just in case you didn't know, CBR is undergoing construction but several accounts have stated it hasn't affected their stay.

Edit: Also keep in mind that Marathon Weekend is January 4th-7th so discounts may not be offered and crowds may be high.

We are also going in Jan and our travel agent said not to book CBR as the restaurants and food court will be closed for the reno. I was sad, my little loves pirates and the pirate room would have been perfect.

From many accounts, the buffet that has temporarily replaced the food court has been superb both in quality and value. It's only considered a quick service credit. Also, they have set up Freestyle Coke machines throughout the resort for those with mugs. In every section there are also island markets with snacks and quick eats. They've done a really good job making up for the renovations. From my understanding, the restaurant that was there before wasn't very popular to begin with. I wouldn't let the renovations deter you from trying out CBR.

If you google Mousesavers historical discounts it'll give you an idea of what discounts you could expect. Obviously nothing is guaranteed.
We went in 2015 and 2016 in January over MLK week. MLK day and the Tuesday after were busy. The Wednesday was very quiet and Thursday and Friday a little busier but not bad at all. It can be COLD (we had it in the 40s-50s for a few days in 2016) or it can be very nice (70s- low 80s in 2015) so it's a crapshoot on weather. Crowd wise though, it's a great time to go!

As far as CBR, I would check out the CBR thread under the resorts forum and ask around there how the construction has been.
