Best time to book plane tix

We are a family of four traveling from Newark Nj to Disney on 11/12. I haven't made my flight arrangements yet. Currently flights are about $250 each and I am hoping prices will drop. How far in advance do you typically buy your plane tix? Is there anyplace I can look to check out historical prices to help gauge what a good deal is? TIA.

Checking airfare prices is like investing in the stock market! Sometimes you look really smart by waiting, and sometimes, well...not so smart. Sometimes the price will go up, and sometimes it will go down.

Are you a gambler? My opinion is: if you are comfortable with the price now you should book it.
