Does anyone know what season is the best value?
I can't tell by the names on the points charts. What season/time of year will I get the most for the least amount of points? I am new at this - just got back today from my first trip to DVC and ready to go back!

January, September, October, most of November and half of December have the least points. We really like January for the light crowds and December for the decor and events. September is too hot in my book, and October was okay.

Weather-wise we like November and October low point times. For holiday stuff you can't beat the beginning of December. January has light crowds but can be fairly cool (as can December). If you want to see a list of point requirements, just click on "DVC Points Charts" at the top of this page and you will get an idea about the relative point costs for different resorts and times of year.

Lowest Point costs are in Adventure season, with costs increasing as you go through Choice, Dream, Magic and finally getting maximum costs during Premier season.

Disney 'seasons' change several times during the calendar year. For example 'Adventure' season includes all of January, all of September, and the 1st fourteen days in December. Premier season is during the 14 days around Easter, and the 8 days Dec 24th through Dec 31st. The other seasons are mixed around also. These examples are for the WDW DVC resorts only. VB and HH seasons are different.

Feel free to download my DVC-Chart program which shows all point requirements for all seasons, and a color coded calendar to compare Disney seasons to regular calendar dates.

For more in-depth planning, download the DVC-Planner program.

To me "best value" would imply lower points compared to higher cash prices, possibly with little or no discounts. My guess is that the Premier, 4th of July, Thanksgiving times fits this bill but I don't follow cash prices and discount codes enough to be certain. But like anything else, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So decide when you want to go and compare to then.

We use the first 2 weeks of Dec great decorations light crowds and we have always had great weather.
