Best time of year to sell a contract?

I currently have 3 separate DVC contracts, and I plan on selling one sometime next year. After this year, my family will be doing less Disney trips, so we don't need as many points.

Is there a month that is best to list a contract for sale? Are there certain months I should not list?

I'm not in a rush and there are no expiring points, so I thought I'd get some input on when to list the contract.

Thanks for any feedback :)

Removed name of the resort as not allowed. But, I don’t know if there is a better time or not…I have sold at different times of the year and different resorts and got quick sales because I priced it to sell fast.

Sorry about that 🫣.

Good to know :thumbsup2. I guess I'll just go with my original plan of selling in the Spring since I'll be too busy to worry about it at the beginning of the year.

In general I'd say that late in the year and very early in the year there tends to be an uptick of contracts available on the market, due to people coming up to time to pay their annual dues near the end of the year, or having just paid their dues at the beginning of the year and deciding to move away from DVC. So, waiting until spring seems pretty reasonable.

The best time of year to sell is right after the annual dues are paid. There are less contracts on the market and therefore less competition. The worst time of year is Oct, Nov, Dec, people are trying to dump their contract before they have to pay the dues again.

That being said there are other things that will affect selling a contract more than the time of year. Having banked points really helps create a quick sale. Having all your points available right away to the buyer. being competitive on price. Things that make for a slow sale are using all your UY points and then trying to sell. Imagine trying to sell your Sept UY contract in Jan and the buyer not being able to use the points till Sept or having to borrow right out of the gate. Having a vacation booked and stating that you can't close till this date. You might as well just wait to sell your contract till after the sale.

Great tips! Thanks.
