Best time of year to go to Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea (crowd wise)

What time of year have you found is best? Is the summer crazy?

I can't speak to the summer crowds but, from what I understand, the weather is miserably hot that time of year. I was in Japan in May. The weather was nice and the crowd levels at the parks were very low the week after Golden Week.

Also consider the ride closure schedule, which is very predictable and regular every year. It is on the official website.

The sun can be punishing in the summer. Women often carry parasols. This works well as even some cloud cover takes away the problem. I've been twice in the summer. I wouldn't let the sun stop me, but if you have the option to go at another time, then go for it. Airfare is most expensive in summer.
