Best time of year for RO discounts?

DH retired in the fall and I'm going to cut back on my hours, so we're going to have a big drop in disposable income. Now that we will have greater flexibility, what's the best time of year to snag the best RO discount?

As we get older, we are enjoying the resort amenities more, so we prefer the deluxes. We spend less time at the parks with the exception of EPCOT for food and wine or flower and garden.

Any tips are appreciated.

I find Mousesavers very helpful when I want to find out when the room rates are the lowest. It doesn't necessarily mean that you will get the biggest discounts at that time, but it is part of the equation.

Last year I wanted to finally make my dream of staying at the Grand Floridian come true. We decided to book for the first week of February, because that's when rates were lowest. When Disney came out with their discounts, They offered a 10 or 15% discount on GF. I was disappointed. I ended up booking through Orbitz, who was offering the same price as booking through Disney, and Orbitz had a deal going where they allowed a further 15% on top of the Disney price. So I ended up with about a 35% discount.

Thanks - that's a great tip. I've never booked a WDW resort other than through Disney. Off to check out Obitz.
