Hi all,

I'm trying to make up my mind about next years Magic eastern sailing date. Just got back from Magic western. The weather was perfect, hot but breezy. However, I am bit traumatized by the hurricanes. Really wouldn't mind the 10 day cruise if our 3 year old wasn't with us :) Anyway, don't want the hurricane season, and prefer cooler weather, oh yeah, no raining season... Am I asking for too much? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

As you can see by my signature we sailed on the May 1 Eastern this year. That's a great time to sail IMHO. It was warm enough to enjoy the water at Castaway Cay but not unbearably hot. A couple of times strolling around the deck at night, I enjoyed having a shawl around my shoulders but it wasn't too cool to really ENJOY the hot tub at 11:30 at night.

I think you would really enjoy either late April or early May - After spring break and before the Magic goes to CA.

We booked for the April 30th 2005 Eastern sailing. ( I believe the last sailing before the ship heads to CA).We love to travel at this time of year. It's usually not as crowded and a bit cheaper, since most school vacations are over by this time.

We sailed the March 6 Eastern this year. Picked this date because I knew we would want a break from the weather up here. It was beautiful - actually very hot in St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Cooler (low 80's) on CC, but we still enjoyed the water and the beach.

We sailed in January this year. The weather was perfect. Low 80's St. Maarten and St. Thomas and high 70's CC. We swam in each port and on the ship. We had one shower on St. Maarten that lasted about 10-15 mins while we were in a store. Other than it was perfect sunshine. I am sailing again in January and will continue to take our vacations in January to get away from the cold for a little bit.

It was chilly departing Port Canaveral, but by chilly I mean 50's. Which was a heatwave with the 12 below we had just left in the Northeast.
