When is the best time in May to go? We chose May because school is still in and its not so hot out here. My daughter will be 4 years old at the time and we will have our new little one who will be 4 mos (then hubby and I maybe 2 more friends). We were going to get there Sat then go to the park sun thru wed (4 day park hopper) then go home thursday. I read on here that parade, fireworks and other things like that only go on weekends. Then some rides are shut down.

My plans were sunday to use a mm because we are early people then sometime during the week use the ttmm not sure what day. But now im wondering we should go Saturday thur tuesday instead or talk my husband in to 5 day park hoppers to and go in on saturday night watch the fireworks and maybe do a few rides. Weather my daughter goes to bed at 8 pm or midnight she is still up bright and early at 6-7 am so I was thinking we could still make the mm on sunday. I chose sunday, mon, tues, wed due to being week days and may not be as busy as the weekend.

What would you do? We need to start planning now so dh can put in for his time off. Lots of guys put it in around that time so I want to get his in early.

Also what days are the ttmm on?

TTMM occurs typically on Monday, Wed, Fri and Sat (saturday being the only day you can do Early Morning entry and TTMM - which is the perfect way to do it if you could).

I don't think you will have any problems with crowds in May, so it really is a great time to go. I was there this past May, arriving the Wednesday before Memorial day, in the parks Th-Sun, and left Monday. We saw and did everything we wanted, some several times over. It's true that fireworks, and Fantasmic are weekends only at that time. Parades, I think them had them a couple of weekdays during the day only (not every day) and twice a day on weekends.

Personally, if you could arrive Friday and do the parks Sat-Tues I think you would do better. Use Early Morning entry and TTMM on Saturday and get everything in Fantasyland and TT over with first thing. Then spend the rest of Sat-Tues seeing and doing everything else at whatever pace you want. Just my opinion.

Have fun planning!

My DS's birthday is in May so we always go. This year we went the 3rd week and last year the 4th week and both times were really good in terms of crowds. Sunday's are always busy though because of So-Cal AP'ers who don't have access on Saturday. I would stick to a M-F schedule, it's what we do and it works out really well.

As far as may the AP effect is the same all month. There are not surprise days that AP's show up like in some months. I would not go during memorial day weekdnd when people who deal with school can go.

I would avoid sundays like the PP said some APs are blocked saturday but not sunday so that's when they go. But it doesn't mean Sunday will be busy and Saturday when they were blocked will be quiet.

The main thing in May is to push back your visit so more attractions are open and not in rehab. This will also increase the likelyhood that it will be warmer.

I went a few years ago we went May 1-4 if I recall. It was 1 month before my sons 4th birthday and my daughter was 4 1/2 months. We went Thurs-Sun and it was great. We were able to swim but it was not to hot at all and the parks were actually not overly crowded. The fireworks, fantasmic, and the electrical parade were running at the time. I would really recommend a Fri-Sun if you can so you can take part in the night activities. Have fun!

Well I think we are going to get there friday and go saturday thur tuesday and go home wed. I would really like my daughter see the shows at night.

Just have to figure out what week now. Im thinking the 3rd week of may.

We went this year May 22-30 and it was perfect and all the rides but one were open and it opened on the weekend. Just make sure your there for at least one weekend night if you want to see fireworks and shows.

Mid May is a great time to go. I usually arrive Mother's day (Sunday) to about Wed or around that time before Memorial day. Any mid week mid May after Spring Breaks is good. Yes some stuff may be closed but if you go on a weekend you should be ok to catch Fantasmic etc

We have gone over Memorial Day weekend for the last 5 years and haven't had issues with crowds. This year we arrived on Sat, May 29 and stayed until June 4th. The crowds were manageable, even over the holiday weekend.

We like that going then because they start having the longer hours and more things going on during the week (this year F! was every night we were there but one, Fireworks were every night, and the parade was once a day, some days twice). Usually the rides that were closed for refurb in May are opened right before that weekend. But it's still before the official start of the major summer season. Plus the food and wine festival has been wrapping up so I get to enjoy that also.

It's like the best of both worlds for us.
