Best time for Na'vi besides rope drop?

We are coming up on our FP window and I am trying to get a loose plan together for our park days. Are there better/worse times throughout the day for Na'vi or does it just vary? Our first AK day we will not be arriving until noon. I am hoping to get a FoP FP for anytime after noon that day so we will have to do Na'vi standby. Do the lines tend to go up or down closer to park closing time? TIA!

Down, the wait posted at close was 90 min I think but it was only 15. For EMH is was basically walk on. This was in early June.

I've heard early/mid-afternoon can be a good time* as many people are rope-dropping Pandora then heading elsewhere in the park. I follow Josh at EasyWDW and he has been doing a number of wait times for Pandora. Might be worth looking him up to see what his latest recommendations are.

Note: 'Good time' will probably still = 60+ minute wait.

That is such a huge difference in time between 15-90 minutes!! Is there a way to guess the line-like a certain points is XXX minutes?

It's very common to see posted wait times 4x the actual wait time during the last hour or two of operation.

Disney uses a technique called line stacking to accomplish this and it is intentional.

I first read about this practice in the 2001 Unofficial Guide so it's nothing new.

During Evening Magic Hours (10 pm to 12 am), on the app the ride was always a 10-20 min wait, while FoP was in the 120s

Josh at easywdw gave an overview that included 'if the line it to this point, the wait should be....'

We did it at rope drop July 2. Short wait. It's a totally forgettable ride and very overrated.
