I have never bought my own airline tickets before - parents or DH has always taken care of that. I've also never flown around Christmas so I need advice from the experts. I'm taking my sister on a girls only trip right before Christmas. I've seen roundtrip for about $258. Is that good or can I do better? I know I've heard of people getting $100 flights but I figured not to count on that around Christmas. Flying out Dec. 17 and back on Dec. 23. We can fly Southwest out of Louisville but they aren't selling tickets for Dec yet. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Also - which car service should we use?

Thanks!

We are also flying out of Lexington with dates close to yours (Dec 15-23). They had really good prices until late March and then prices went up quite a bit. I think it is a combination of ATA pulling out of lex, delta financial difficulties, fuel etc. We are flying next April also and prices are higher then than we are used to (you had been always to get a good fare that far out in the past).I have been looking at these dates a lot and they haven't changed a lot in price (the cheapest fare for our dates is $270) so I think we are going to fly SW this time. Hopefully our dates will be out by late July. Let me know if you see any break in prices.
