Ok so I am thinking of planning a quick trip for just DH and I as a surprise to him. We need this badly. But I was wondering when the best time to go might be. We would only do 2 parks because of time MK and Hollywood Studios. Can't leave the babies for too long. The oter days I think it would be nice to relax at the pool and have some nice meals. Any suggestions on less crowed times yet still warm enough to swim? TIA

DH and I started going to Disney solo to get away for a couple of days-long weekend....we are now up to 9 day trips!!! We love going in September. It's very hot but you can finish a park in a day (w/o kids) because of the low park attendance. There is also historically been great deals offered (past few years...free dining) in September.

I've found that September (due to kids back in school) and later January as the quietest times. But you also have the extremes in temps. If you want to swim, I'd suggest September.

Have fun!!! :)

DH and I don't have kids so it's always just us unless we invite our friends. Generally, the second week of Dec and the third week of August aren't too bad.

I realize you said you would prolly visit HS and MK, but DH & I love going to Epcot in October for the Food & Wine Fest.

Yes we will visit Epcot in the evenings. Sorry. Really 2 votes for 2-3 week in Aug??? It isn't busy with everyone trying to get in the last minute vacations before school??? That would be great our 8 yr anniversary is Aug.

Hi, My DH and I have found that the last week of April (after school vacations and spring breaks) and the first week of May are absolutely delightful at WDW:dance3: This also happens to coincide beautifully with the Flower and Garden Festival.:flower3: The landscaping is absolutely beautiful and the roses are to die for.:lovestruc The crowds aren't too bad and this year instead of just a week, we're staying for 9 days so we are in no hurry!:cool2: We've found the weather to be favorable for swimming and sunning and the best part........when we return home the weather is actually very nice here in Maine too! :cool1: :beach: pixiedust:

Most southern schools are back in session mid-August. Here in NE we usually are back right after Labor Day. Heading to WDW the last week of August this year.

End of September is nice. maybe into F&W is nice. We have anniversary in Oct. Great weather.

I find heat more bearable without the kids in tow!

I'd say mid-December is great. It's romantic with all the Christmas decorations, it's mild with temps varying, and the crowds are great at that point. (more crowded closer to Christmas)

We usually go around the teens of December.

Another vote for September here! My favorite dates to visit are to check in on Labor Day or the day after and stay anywhere from 4-7 nights.

DH and I are doing a short April trip this time as I have to go to Orlando for business.

Enjoy your adults only break

October would be good for the Food & Wine at Epcot like another poster said..

But..I was going to say October because you could do MK during the day, then when all the kids show up for MNSSHP you could head over to Pleasure Island for adult fun :)

My DH and I went on our Honeymoon mid Dec one year and crowds were not bad at all. We did go to Mickey's Merry Christmas Party and it was horribly busy. This year, My DH and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary May 3-13th. I have been told it should not be too bad.

I would say september by far. You can get free dining and lines are not noticable, maybe you could do more than the 2 parks then :)

Lines and wait times were 20 minutes max in september for us last year, even on Soarin. September is my vote :)

Thank you everyone for all the responses. We decided on May just due to our little guys school schedule(easier for grandma). I am excited. I hope the weather is good.
