Hey! Just got back from a group trip to Disney World and we are ready to go again!
I have heard that the weeks after Thanksgiving until the week before Christmas are the best times to visit the parks. Little or no crowds and all the parks are decorated for Christmas!
Has anyone else been at this time? Please let me know!
Thanks,
Katybugsmom

It's a great time to go. The Christmas decorations go up around Thanksgiving so the parks are beautiful.

We were there that week last year and it was very nice. There were more crowds than we were used to in January, but never too bad. MVMCP was a specail night as was the Candle light possession. We did the package and enjoyed it. We also enjoyed resort hopping and seeing all the decorartions. Book your resort and Ps's eary because they both seem to fill up fast this time of year.

We went that week a couple year's ago, and we are planning to go the 4th to 12th this year. The weather is nice, and the crowds are light. We already have our tickets for MVMCP and plan to do the CP package as well!

We were there last year from Dec. 14-27. The crowds were pretty light that first week until the 19th, which was the Friday. Christmas week was pretty well packed; but we managed okay. I would love to go back this year; but not for the week of Christmas again. Now all I need to do is convince DH he wants to go back, too. Hoping for anytime from the 4th until the 18th. Of course, I would love it to be the entire time!

Crowds or not it is worth being there to see all the beautiful decorations and the Magic that is Disney! This year the Osbourne lights are back again, too. Sounds like a good reason to go back to me.

MVCMP is a good way to enjoy the MK with lighter crowds. The Candle Light Processional is not to be missed in my humble opinion.

this will be our 3rd year going the first week in dec. the crowds arent that bad but I did notice a increase this past year from the year prior. the weather is usually more mild but can be iffy- we had one year of heavy rain and than last year- our last day was the coldest of the year in the 30's and windy! brrr. and we had been swimming only 2 days earlier! the decorations are beautiful. everything looks so nice. Mickey's xmas party did seem alittle more crowded than the year before and we didnt really ride too many rides due to the wait but the kids really seem to enjoy it never the less! have a wonderful time! :earsboy:

Where do you purchase the Candlelight Processional tickets? Is this like a show? We have never been to Disney at Christmas time, but in the planning stages to go next year (2005) followed by a 3-night cruise. Unfortunatly we won't be able to go until boys (15, 12) are out of school for the break. I know that it will be packed, but hoping that by planning this early we will get what we want. Thanks,

The Candle Light Processional is the telling of the Christmas story at the America Gardens Theatre in Epcot's World Showcase. A guest speaker narrates and there is a Mass Choir and 50 piece orchestra. They are usually three showing per night. Last year the show times were at 5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 PM. No tickets are required. However if you wish to have reserved seating (first come first serve) you can purchase though Disney's dining central reservations a dinner package. Last years prices ranged from $28.99 for tier one to $41.99 per person for tier three. Tier one was for a full buffet at your choice of the Garden Grill, Norway or Germany includes non alcoholic beverages, as well. Last years price for tier two was $34.99 per person. This included your choice of soup, salad or appetizer, entree, dessert and non alcoholic beverages. Dining choices for tier two were at Mexico, Morocco, China and The United Kingdom. Tier three includes all the same dining options as tier two. Restraurants to chose from are France, The Living Seas, Italy, Canada and Japan.

Hope this helps. We went on Christmas Day last year. I can't wait to go back and see it again in 2005!
