Now believe me , home I am a responsible professional, pillar of the community..
BUT.................
Since my son is now grown, my husband and I always save one day at epcot to be completely decadent and drink our way around the world:
but we start in england (no special drinks in canada really) with a (few) hard cider(s) and some fish n chips...
then a wine sampler or kir royal and a sweet snack in france...
then something in morrocco (can't remember what by this point) while we giggle at the bellydancers...
ahh yes, sample different kinds of saki in japan and a maybe a plum wine too just 'cause it's yummy...
usually just a funnel cake in america no special drinks here either...
lemoncellos and more wine in italy...
beer (i don't DO schnaps) in germany...etc.
by the time we hit china we need a nap...but we soldier on...
no great drinks in norway but maelstrom is so much more fabulous by this point!
and of course, margaritas in mexico or a beer if that's too sweet, and that little market (I wonder why I always buy something...) and the cute river de tiempo ride...
and then......
usually back to england for another hard cider and more fish n chips (husband is british and usually homesick and sentimental by this point) while we watch the fireworks.
OR - dinner at one of the great resturants, often le cellier, I love the garden and the creme brulee' --plus, it's close and i probably need to sit down bt now.)
Once, when we were there we hit the jackpot and stumbled onthe "food and wine festival" . Extra countries were represented and each had terrific wine tastings and specialty drinks.
They do it yearly, try to go if you can....we were befriended by a drunken but harmless group of foreign students who worked at epcot (sssh, they would get in trouble) who were such fun! they dragged us all over, "you've gotta try this one, and that one, and..." you can just imagine!
Anyway, it's lot of fun, forget the calories - just be sure to eat a little bit in each country so you don't get too stupid!
ps- my grown son and his partner did it with us last time except they didn't eat much and they were a little bit embarrassing...they should have stopped before norway, but it was dark by then and no one seemed to mind...

About 10 years ago we had our annual sales conference in Orlando (before that it was in Cancun, Hawaii, Vegas . . . rotated every year). My wife always wondered why I was so exhausted after every trip. Since our first anniversary fell on the last day of the conference, I invited her down and made reservations at V&A for the anniversary dinner (although fun, that was not the best part).

You have to understand that she is the type to be in bed at 10pm but I suggested that we go to PI for a few drinks and some dancing (which I had already done every night for the last three days, then sat by the pool until 4am with friends). After a slow start, she really got into things at 8 Trax and we danced until they kicked everyone out at 2am. While I'm dragging my sorry butt out of there, ready to go to sleep, she wanted to know where we were going next! I let here know that Church St was open until 3 but it would take us 30 minutes to get there so we headed back to the hotel. The next morning she said "Now I know why you like these meetings so much." Not only did we have a great time, but I never got bothered about the meetings anymore.

Love Food & Wine Fest - when else can you start at 11:00, build a slow, cozy glow & indulge your taste buds all day with your sweetie?

The wine tastings are the perfect size for me (I'm a lightweight drinker, lol). Other times of the year, I can only try a few things before the warm cozy glow degenerates.

Gotta love the wine store they set up for the Festival too, makes balcony sitting truly Magical.

you can also do the monrail drink a tfon - it is pretty fun too!:thumbsup2

I think you might really need to go during the food/wine:lmao:

it starts late Sept 28 til Nov 11, 2007

here is the information so far

you could also go in April for the garden & flower festavial at Epcot - while the concerts are better in April - I think the sampling of food/wine during Oct is better
