Best things to do for a 3 year old???

Hi Everyone,

I finally figured out how to post a message .. silly me. Anyways, My husband and I are taking our almost 4 year old daughter to Disney for the first time in October..She is a definate girly girl ... ...and I was wondering what special things we should do with her.
Any help wpuld be much appreciated..I am hoping tp make this a magical trip for her!

My DS loves the carousel and the buzz lightyear ride. All boy all the time.
Try the princess tea party and dinner at the castle.

There is now the really cute boutique down in DTD in World of Disney. I think it is called Bippity Boppity Boo Boutique. It is really cute, they do the girls hairs and nails, and make up so they look like a little princess. So cute!

No matter what, have fun! It will a magical time for your Daughter

Here's a few thoughts from parents of two little princesses .

1) CRT - a meal at the Castle with Cindy and co.
2) PSB - a meal in Norway with a handful of princess (sans Cindy) - not sure that they still do this - but one of the first families in the morning is selected to open the restaurant and is escorted to their table by one of the princesses (Aurora in our case)
3) Princess meet and greet in Mickey's Toontown fair.
4) Tea Party at GF but $$$
5) Playhouse Disney Live show - not necessarily girly but good for the age group - all three of our kids loved it at that age
6) Ariel's Grotto - although this can be a long/hot wait to meet the little mermaid
7) It's a Small World - as many times as you can stand it
8) Tinkerbell's Treasure - 1st child after rope drop into the store in Fantasyland gets to wake up Tink for the day
9) The Wishes fireworks display is particularly fun viewing from the launch that runs from MK to GF and Poly. You don't necessarily need to stay at the resort to take a ride on the launch. You can always hop the monorail back to TTA or MK, or just ride the launch back.
10) See if you can get a ride with the driver on the monorail. Not limited to girly but ours got a definite kick out of it.

4 years old, that's a great age to go to WDW !!. We took our 3 y/o in June and didn't make any special plans for anything-- just kind of played it by ear & she LOVED everything we did. Her highlights were The Muppet Show and the Little Mermaid Show in MGM. She liked Turtle Talk with Crush in Epcot, and playing in the Winnie the Pooh playground at MK. Also Fantasyland was BIG with her, the parades, and the fireworks especially seeing Tinkerbelle. She enjoyed playing in the fountains at DTD and LOVED Typhoon Lagoon!

She enjoyed everything we did. We deliberty didn't make any reservations for anything this time because it was our first time & we didn't want to have to be anywhere in particular. Also this way we could enjoy everything at our own pace. Have fun!

We went to the Princess breakfast in Epcot and liked it better than the castle. yes cindy is not there but there are at least 4 princess there and we usually hit 5. We alsays do the mel plan and thsi is on ly a one punch meal where castle is a 2.

We rode in the front of the mono and that was a dream of mine and kids loved it.

Spectromagic is a cool parade. It is very corwded and late at nite. First time the kids were so tired they fell asleep for 2 housr waiting for parade but we jost got a great seat and waited.

Have a great trip. I reccomend renting a stroller in the park it is very convienant.

This is what we did with our two little girls...

1. We did CRT for dinner....The girls loved it!!
2. We also did 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella...Another hit with the girls!
3. The my 3 year old got her hair and make up done at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique...She loved, loved this!
4. They both really enjoyed taking pictures with the characters in Toon Town...I can't remember the meet and greet place at Toon Town, but I am sure some of the other wonderful veterans on this board know the name!
Really anything we did they enjoyed, but the above was definitely there favorite!

We have done CRT and Epcot storybook lunch. We prefer the Epcot pinricess lunch verser crt because we felt rushed at crt. Plus the epcot one is only one sit down service and crt is 2

I have DS not DD, but he is 4, and has been to WDW 6 times already. His most favorite place in the whole entire world!

Some things he has loved on the last couple of trips that should appeal to either boys or girls:

Characters, characters, characters! Especially our last trip in May when he just turned 4, the mission of the whole trip was about how many characters we could meet to get autographs and pictures.

Fav rides: Peter Pan, Small World, Dumbo, (did NOT love Tiki room this time, too dark and loud), Buzz ride, Monorail, Star Tours, Soarin', Safari ride at AK

Fav shows: Lion King at AK (he got to participate in the dancing at the end this time), Cindarellabration, watching the outdoor performers around Epcot, Playhouse Disney Live on Stage

I've heard that the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at DD is a huge hit with the girls - we saw many Princesses walking in the parks enjoying the limelight. We actually let our son get a couple of costumes down there to wear at the parks too - he was Peter Pan for a few days (not sure why I bothered packing him regular clothes?!) and a Safari costume from AK was a huge hit too (both are still active in his playwear at home too). He got a little tired of the extra attention from people, but we thought it was hillarious. One girl even asked to take her picture with our little "Peter". Many girl costumes to choose from even if you opt out of the BBB experience.

Most of all, just let them have some time to be playful and active down there too. It is hard standing in lines all day (FastPass is a parent's best friend), so we let him play at the playground areas when we got a chance, and have some pool time at the resort either in the morning or end of the day.

Have a blast, and make some special memories that will last a lifetime (and kids remember more than you think they will at this age).

My daughter (5) is a girlie girl too. She always has to get a hair wrap at DTD or at the hotel pool before we leave. They last a couple of weeks after you get home. There is also a candy store across from the entrance to Rainforest Cafe in DTD that sell icees. You can build your own souvenier cup. They have princess and Minnie cups. You add whatever shoes, hats, ears, etc. and pick your icee flavor. Kids also love these. Have a great time.

We just got back from disney - took our two daughters, 3 & 5 for the first time...some of the highlights for them:

Breakfast at Cindarella's castle (princess only circulated dining room for breakfast, so don't bother booking a dinner res!) She will get to take a picture with Cindy b4 being seated and it's included with the price = $132 for the four of us. My 3 year old was scared though and wouldn't get in the pic! Go figure!

Breakfast at Askerhus banquet hall in Norway pavillion of Epcot...same deal, pic with a princess b4 being seated, but this one is an optional purchase and costs $34 if you decide to take it. Many princesses circulating dining room and much less rushed than the Castle b'fast. About the same price when done. We dressed ours up in their costumes brought from home (saved $ that way) and the pix are priceless!

Ariel's Grotto in MK...in Fantasyland....go first thing when you get there and there won't be a line, otherwise you will wait an hour just to get your photo opportunity. It helps if you show her the movies with all these princesses before leaving home so she will be exited about meeting them all. Watch the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Peter Pan, The Lion King (if you plan on seeing the show at Animal Kingdom) etc..
if you do go to the Lion King, try to get to the show real early and ask to be "VIP" - They may seat you in the front row and your daughter will be picked to join on stage in a number if she is willing to go (may be too young- my 5 yr. old went and my 3 yr. old wouldn't)

Belle reads a story in the "fairytale garden" several times a day. This is on the right side of Cinderella's castle on the way to Tomorrowland. Kind of off the beaten track, but the girls loved the "show". Your husband might even get onstage to play "Gaston" if he's lucky!

It's a Small World was our 3-yr. old's fave ride in Fantasyland and she also liked Aladdin's carpet in Adventureland which doesn't have many kids rides.

The noise level of the fireworks show really frightened our little one but the show was amazing and not to be missed! Hope she's not afraid of loud noises...she was also a little freaked out by the Spectromagic Parade (?) Oh Well!

There are two tea parties at the GF hotel- one is called the Wonderland Tea Party and has Alice and the Mad Hatter as Hosts - they decorate cupcakes, eat lunch, and have a "tea party". They take home a picture and my kids really loved it. It's for ages 3-10 and costs about $35. Reservations in advance, weekdays at 1:30 at 1900 park fare. NO adults allowed...my husband and I went for our own afternoon tea at the garden view lounge while they were in there. It was like being on a date!

The other tea party will set you back about $200 ...but you would accompany her, which depending on if she separates well might be a better choice. She gets to take a doll home! It looks really nice, but we didn't do it b/c of the cost.

Definately ask to be the "cab rider" of the monorail if you take it. You go in the front and she will get a "co-pilots" license. It's cute!

Well, those are the things we did. Hope some of the suggestions interest your daughter. We didn't do the BBB b/c i feel like they would appreciate it more at slightly older age, i just want them to remember a special experience like that, but if you decide to go, it's in downtown disney, and she can get her hair and nails done for around $45.
