What a fantastic idea. They are very lucky.
I would suppose it would depend on what it is they all like. We have never organised anything in Florida as a surprise as we have all been involved in the planning but we have done a balloon flight, helicoptor flight and dolphin swim - all of which are pretty pricey and we probably wouldn't do again as once was enough.
Do you think they might like the Blue Man Group. We all loved it and it would be something quite easy for you to sort out before you go. Planning this far ahead you could also make sure you get front row seats, dead centre - or the splash zone as they call it - making for an evening where you are right in the action :thumbsup2

What a great thread idea!

My best surprise is the upcoming trip - the whole thing! DD has no idea. She always talks about Disney and so I get constant updates from her on what she would like to try and have incorporated this into the itinerary. She has been asking for a couple of years now to try the POFQ (must be the waterslide!) so we are staying there. She has never done BBB and I will be booking her a session.

Also booking her favorite character meal spots. I am loving it and if it weren't for the DIS, nobody would know. I take it you can trust me with a secret - I booked it at the end of May last year! :rotfl2:

Do you little ones like arcades Louise? If so, maybe a trip/afternoon at Disney Quest? I've never been personally, but I'm sure others could give you more information on it.

Or maybe a boat trip on Bay Lake?

I'll keep thinking if there's anything else either :goodvibes

Wow now that is good - we kept a secret from our kids for all of a few hours couldnt wait to see their faces. i would burst if i had to keep it secret for that long !!!!

we have been in disneyquest last year the boys young and old loved it !! Me and DD hated it :lmao::lmao:

Boat trip on bay lake sounds good I quite like the idea of a wishs cruise or the pals and pirate voyage !!!!

In my opinion it would definately be OK for a 4 year - especially if they like music, drums and seeing people get acting silly and getting messy.
The other thing that would make it special is that you get to meet the Blue Men in the foyer afterwards and have photos with them. Brad and Taylor even got them to put a big blue handprint on the sides of their faces :lmao:

If it would help we have a copy of a tour they did on DVD. I would happily send you a copy for you all to watch. Then if you do decide to go and see them live you will all have an idea as to who they are. Bear in mind thought that the DVD is quite a bit longer than the show in Universal - which would make the US one even easier for a youngster to get through

What a lovely idea Louise, here are some the suprises I have booked in Orlando:

  • Wishes cruise, private boat with pipped music
  • Illuminations cruise
  • Cirque du Soleil - done this a fair few times and everybody has loved it, your kids would love the acts
  • Waterskiing from the Contemporary
  • Helicopter ride - but this only lasts 15 mins
  • Surfing lesson on the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, the boys loved this one, but not sure that little Kiera would
    Pirates Golf on Internatinal Drive

I think that, given the ages of your children, they would all like the Cirque du Soleil as it has something for everybody and is one of the best shows I have ever seen for entertainment

That's all I can think of for now.

Have fun planning
Tina

Last time we went I booked the following as a complete surprise:

Balloon Flight.
Cirque du Soleil.
Dine with Shamu at Seaworld.
Jacksonville Jaguars NFL game at Jacksonville.
MNSSHP - twice (first one they knew about the second one was a surprise)
Polynesan Luau at Royal Pacific Resort.
Sharks Deep Dive at Seaworld.

This time we'll be going to:

Blue Man Group.
Dinosaur World (en route to Tampa).
Helicopter Tour (we'll be booking the one that goes from Universal down to Old Town)_
Skyventure.

We have done lots of surprises. Our whole holiday in October was by far the best (we had already done our 18monthly trip in February 2009 but won some money and blew the lot on a second trip in October. The kids were saying 'only a year and a week until our next trip' while we knew there was only one week - amazing feeling telling them the day before).

Also last February booked HDDR for DS birthday, thought he was going to WCC and then we took the boat on a stop to Fort Wilderness a fantastic night and a new must-do on our trips.

The end of February trip he was in on his sister's surprise for being so kind on his birthday trip and ordered her a slipper dessert at CRT.

During our trip in 2007 I arranged to have baskets delivered from Memoriesbybetsy.com she was amazing. We had autograph books, pens, pressed penny albums, rolls of coins to get the pennies pressed, persoanlised ears and a 2007 plush put in them.

Have an amazing trip.

Having a fancy cake delivered to the table during a meal is a nice touch! I had that done for my DH last year and he loved it!!

On a previous trip we did a dolphin nursery tour at Sea World as a surprise ~ we all loved it. :goodvibes

Gift baskets too :) I'm doing a surprise one for our arrival for my parents and brother. I think they can be delivered outside of Disney too.

I'm using this lady Memories by Betsy as I've heard many other Dis'ers say that her baskets are great :thumbsup2

Best thing I ever did was book the family magic tour at magic kingdom. It's more like a treasure hunt through the magic kingdom where you may be asked to read scrolls, hop skip and jump around, look for gold coins, solve clues and ends up with some fab character interaction and alone time ( don't want to spoil it for those that haven't done it) . My kids were 5 and 3 at the time and loved it, highly recommended!

A cake for our 8th Anniversary for DH. One of the best cakes I've ever had actually

I know it's something simple compared to some of the other surprises here, but it was fantastic!

Can you tell me more about the surfing lessons at TL my ds12 would love this.

Thanks Tina. Last year we met up with a friend & her son at TL, it was great for Stephen as i'm nervous in the water & Norman does'nt swim. This year he does'nt want to bother with a water park as he thinks it will be boring with dad & i. I think this will change his mind & it's his 13 birthday, so it will make a nice extra pressie.

Thanks guys !!:thumbsup2

On my list of possibilities now are;

Blue man group
Tubing on lake at Contempary - even Keira can join in with this and it looks fab.
Wishes/illuminations cruise
Special cake delivered to my wonderful family !!!

Now all ive got to do is decide :rotfl2:
