Best suites/penthouses and pricing

So I am planning on booking a short trip to Irvine and was dissapointed at their selection of hotels. A friend suggested booking at the Disneyland resort to help accommodate the type of rooms we're looking for.

Doing some googling, I came across some rooms that perked our interest - such as the Pirates of the Caribbean, Californian, # Arcadia Suite
# Arroyo Suite.

Sadly though, aside from floorplans there wasn't much information regarding these rooms. I shot an email off to disney, but am just looking to find more information in general (pricing is a big one, they're not even available on their reservation website) on these rooms and get some suggestions.

Best room to spend 2-3 nights in at the resort?

It depends on how many people are going to be in the room. If you are only staying 2-3 nights, why a suite? The Artisan suite at GCH sleeps 6 people, it has a bedroom with a queen bed, and two pull out beds in the living room. There is only one bathroom, two sinks. When our group booked, the "discounted" rate for the Artisan suite was over $600 a night. Only one bathroom! I can't imagine what the rack rate is.

The standard room comes with either a queen and a bunk bed, plus a trundle under the bunk; or two queens and a roomy day bed. The standard room sleeps five people comfortably, and you can easily get two smaller children on the lower bunk and the trundle to sleep 6-7 people. It has one bathroom, and two sinks. It's very roomy, nice sized closet, and lots of space to store your toiletries. Our group's discounted rate is just $195 per night (for the week of September 13-19 only), so our attendees are better off booking two adjoining rooms (no extra charge for adjoining) than a suite.

If you were planning to stay longer, and it was just a few people, I would say (as long as your budget can afford it) that a suite might be worth it. You would have the privacy of a bedroom, while the rest of your party has the other room.

We would be looking to be able to entertain 15-30 people fairly comfortably. Maybe 6-10 sleeping. Not everyone will need a bed I'm certain, but don't really want to just have people shoulder to shoulder in the living room.

$600/night would be very affordable.

A lot of friends I get to see maybe once/twice a year will be in town for business and I'd like to be able to have something nice for everyone. Money isn't really an issue and again, it's a once, twice a year type of thing for a lot of the attendees.

If money is no object ask for the Presidential suite, everyone will be impreessed. It comes with its own chef.

That's the 3600 Sq ft one right?

Not really looking to spend 7-10k/night (One that comes to mind is the 3200 one at Atlantis that was right under 11k a night), but 1-2 would be doable.

Made a mistake on pricing, I forgot that the extra room was already added in ("2 BR Arcadia Suite") ..... Well the Arroyo (4th floor) is 1604 sq.ft. wth a King in the BR and pullout in LR and has a connecting King Artisan suite available for extra. The Arcadia (6th flr) is 1719 sq.ft. with a King in BR and pullout suite but has a King room available on one side and a Q/Q available on the other side. Depending on time of year these go for between $2700 - $3400 w/ either an extra K or Q/Q standard room (not incl. tax) I don't know much about the other two suites but if you go to: "Disneylandmeetings.Disney.go.com" there is, on the left side of the page, links to room information. Hope this helps.

It was somewhat time consuming finding out particulars on the larger suites at the GC when I contacted them. I got conflicting answers until I finally spoke to one of their VIP guys who has actually been in the rooms and knows. What I don't like about some of them is the connecting rooms for certain suites connect through the master bedroom why would I want others (especially my noisy, and I do love them dearly , grandkids) to walk through my room in the early morning to get to the living room and kitchen for snacks? I guess they could walk out in the hallway and then enter the room through the main door! I think the DVC there will have a much more family friendly layout for larger groups.

If your planning on going after 9/24(when the GC villas open),then you may want to look into those DVC rooms. They will have a three bedroom suite option sleeps 9. Just not sure how you'd book if not a member. Goodluck.
