Best stroller for an infant?

If you like your Mac Triumph, maybe you should try a Mac Techno or a Mac Global Buggy. The Techno has a full recline, larger wheels than the Triumph, and basically all of the bells and whistles of the "full feature" strollers. The Global Buggy is comparable to the Techno and comes with a bumper bar, which would allow you to plug in lots of the car seat baby buckets. Sadly, I believe that the Global Buggy is being discontinued in the US market. Both of these weigh in around 20 lbs.

The Peg Perego P3, Inglesina Zippy, and Chicco CT01 are all very similar and the "workhorse" stroller for those who want one stroller that will do it all. All 3 weigh in at 20-23 lbs, have an umbrella-style fold, and a full recline. All three are full-feature strollers that will have a full recline and will accommodate a baby bucket.

If you really want to research and dive into the world of strollers, you should check out strollerqueen.com. It's a website by a mom who is completely obsessed and in love with strollers. She has reviews of all of the latest models, including some European models that we can only get through imports. She also heads up a discussion group on yahoo called stroller swap. These ladies are THE authorities for all things stroller and pram. Thanks to them, my addiction has grown and I have six strollers, including Macs, an Inglesina, a Silver Cross, a Mountain Buggy, and a Bugaboo. It's a sickness and time to thin the herd.

Best wishes! pixiedust:

That is what I was going to suggest too. They can answer all your questions and then some. :thumbsup2

The Combi Ultra savy fully reclines, fits graco carseats, has a basket, cup holder & is not very heavy. It also folds up pretty small (unless you have the basket full). It's my top pick even over the Aria that I got for number 4 (which is much more expensive but about 10lbs lighter than the combi).

Hello, new to the boards so this is my 1st post.

Do you Peg Perego Pliko Lite pushchairs in the US? They are similar to the Peg Perego P3 but are lighter and don't have the bumper bar and recline so are suitable from birth (the seats are quite padded and have pads on the harness so are really comfortable for little ones)

Wow! Thanks for your suggestions and the website. I had to get my Mac in the US if you can believe it, as they aren't too popular in Southern Ontario (closest place was 3 hours away), so we have only saw the Volo, Triumph and Quest at the baby boutique that we went to in Troy, Michigan.

My DH tells me that there is not such stroller for my specifications as I need lightweight with an infant recline, and of good quality. We don't have Macs or Inglesina in my city - lots of Pegs though, but they are heavy!

I thank you for your response, Tiger

Not sure how old your Mac is but they are all over now. Babies R Us has a few different models and any specialty baby store carries them. I have my eye on the Quest.

I missed that in your post. I live in Burlington and they have them at the Oakville Babies R Us. I have also seen them at stores in Mississauga, Toronto and Stoney Creek in the last couple months. You can also order them from BabiesRus.ca.

That's crazy. I would have thought you wouldn't have to come this far. I am registered at Babies R us and I know they carry the Quest. I can't remember exactly which other ones but there were 2 or 3 different models. Quest is online for sure as well.

Here's a link, looks like the Triumph, Quest and Volo. No idea about shipping. I have only used the Quest in the store but seems like a dream to steer. We have a Graco travel system but I want the Quest for when this baby is a bit older.

They just started marketing the Lite here in the US. Don't know how well it is going to do though.

Our older dd is 8 and our baby is 8 mths so it had been a while since I'd been stroller shopping. At Babies R Us, I found a very lightweight small Graco stroller. It said it would fit any Graco carseat (the carseat sits on top, like the 4 in 1 stroller systems). The difference is it is much smaller than the 4 in 1. I've had several people ask me where I bought it. Anyway, if you saved your infant carseat from your older child, this may work out for you. It was roughly $60 (u.s. dollars)

For your specifications, a Combi might work well. I just ordered a Combi Cosmo (free shipping, but I'm in the US) and it's very lightweight (only 2 pounds heavier than the Peg Aria), fully reclines, and is very comfy. I also wanted one stroller that could work for home and travel. My son is 18 months, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for an infant too. The Combi infant seats fit on it as well. Just a thought. They're a little less than the reclining Mac models I think.
