Best steak

I feel like it's a hidden gem and I am almost hesitant to mention it because then you'll all know but while I defer to the love for Shulas and YSH - for 1TS we had a pretty fantastic strip steak and dining experience at the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs Resort - now that was a few years ago so I am not able to speak to current status but as I recall It was quiet and beautifully appointed with polished dark woods and the service was friendly and attentive. I also remember the grilled romaine salad as kind of amazing and surprising in just how much I liked it. It's out of the way so it gets ignored in lists like this but it was a solid choice.

Just had Turf Club a couple of nights ago. DD thoroughly enjoyed her steak. The fried shrimp app is a MUST DO. Wow!

We thought Yachtsmans was awful bland and tasteless meat.

I had a fabulous steak at Jiko and California Grill last trip. Also I haven't tried it yet but having just watched the steak at the Boathouse on youtube it is looking like a nice option.

The lobster fondue with the steak takes it from a good strip steak to rub it in your hair good! I need to try the shrimp!

Yachtsman was 100% better than Le Celier in my opinion.

Was the atmosphere, food or service that compares better to LeCellier?

We have not been to Yatchsman for a while due to the last two times being so so. Service was not good, food was just ok.

At over $50 a steak, I strongly encourage you to avoid Le Cellier. The service this past Wednesday was subpar, our check was messed up, and for the price, I expected a better tasting steak cooked correctly (ordered medium rare, got medium). Be Our Guest had a better, less expensive steak. Le Cellier was the low point from a dining perspective.

I would say either Yachtmans or Jiko. The service we have had at Yachtmans has not been that great. It was much better at Jiko. Never tried Shula's but in reading the prior comments it sounds as though we should.

Haven't been to Yachtsmans but love Le Cellier and Jikos filet. Have had good steaks also at Be our Guest

As far as 1ts steak, it has been hit or miss for us. For example one of the best steaks I had was at Mama Melrose of all places. I used to think LeCellier was good but no way good enough for 2ts imo. Yachtsman would definitely be the pick of your two for us.

Yachtsman is far better that Le Dungeon. Food, service and overall atmosphere all all better at YSH.

However, for the best steak I'd agree with the podcast team's recommendation for Bull & Bear. Its at the Waldorf Astoria in Bonnet Creek. Very easy to get to by car, taxi or uber.

Out of the two I would pick Yachtsman. I second Sanaa and Turf Club. My son in law loved the steak at all three with Yachtsman and Turf Club being almost equal in his opinion, but this was about 18 months ago. My sister in law preferred the steak at Sanaa and she is very picky!
