Okay, I love steak, but I am looking for a steak that doesn't have some type of wine sauce, cream sauce, mushroom sauce or anything at all poored onto my steak. Okay, a little bit of au jus I like, but that is it. Where would be the best place to get a good steak that is not done up so fancy that I can't taste the steak?

Thanks in advance. I am a picky eater and love a good steak and baked potato, but some of these places have to go over board to make it look worth the amount of money you spend and then I don't care for it.

We have always enjoyed the steaks at Yachtsman, its been some of the best beef we've ever had... I've heard good things about Jiko, but I think they have a sauce over theirs, but I'm sure as with any restaurant you can order it without any sauce.

LeCellier has a great steak. Just ask for it without sauce. It's no problem at all for a chef to prepare a steak that way.

From one Terry to another: I had THE best steak of my entire life at the castle!! It was filet mignon, and I don't remember whether it "comes with" a sauce or not, but I ordered mine plain, and it was SO good, it literally melts in your mouth!

I had filet mignon at Le Cellier this past Feb, and I don't know if I just got a bad one or what, but it was terrible. Not the absolute worst I've ever had, but it was by far from what I'd even call "good". It was chewy, and didn't taste good. I was there with my brother and his family, it was their first time staying onsite, we were at this restaurant on MY recommendation, and I did not want to put a damper on the evening, so I didn't say a word. It wasn't inedible, but it just wasn't good.... a huge disappointment. I have heard other people rave about the steaks at Le Cellier, so if you go there, I hope you get a better piece of meat than I what I had.

Shula's in the Dolphin is the best beef on property. Pricey but well worth it.

I sound like a broken record.

I had a very good filet mignon at Yachtman's Steakhouse last May..no sauce or toppings. DH had steak plain (he always has it plain) and enjoyed it, too. We haven't tried Shula's yet...maybe next time.

I too believe you can request your sauce "on the side" so you can have a plain steakat virtually any WDW restaurant. I believe the Concourse Grill at the Contemporary has a decent (but surely not the best) steak. My family of dedicated carnivores are all "plain" steak eaters so I understand your sitch.

I've been to Shula's at the Dolphin twice. It is one of the best steak houses i've been to. They will cook it any way you want it. Every thing there is HUGE. All of your side's are so big you can split them. They wheel out a cart with all the different types of steaks and more. The waiter explains how everything is prepared. The steak's on the cart are wrapped in plastic wrap, so you can see what size it is in case you are a big eater or would like something smaller. (They even have a huge live Maine lobster on the cart just staring at you) They have great wines, deserts, and everything i've tried has been excellent. They even have a cigar lounge if your interested. The menu itself is painted on a football. The atmosphere is very nice also. At the table you sit in large leather seats. If you are an adventurous eater, I highly recommend the Steak Tartare. (raw very high quality ground beef) I've had that twice also. As you can tell, i'm a huge fan of this place.

As Mikka says, most spots will on request, glaldy prepare the steak w/o any of the sauces, etc.
My vote goes to Shula's as the very best steak. The Porterhouse I had there was excellent!!
Yachtsman Steakhouse is also a nice spot

Have you ever had Omaha Steaks???Whats the scoop on them ,no hormones ,no preservatives?Any one know???

Try LeCellier's Filet Mignon.

Just had a filet from Le Cellier 12/5 (asked for no sauces) and it was excellent!

Shula's!

And this from a Raider fan just 5 days before the Raiders play the Dolphins... so you know its good!

Shula's is supposed to be the best. I haven't eaten there yet, but I have eaten at Yachtsman, California Grill and Cinderella's castle. By far the castle was the best! I was shocked because it always gets such mixed reviews. But it is definitely one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Unfortunately you can't have a good glass of wine with it.

If price is no object then you will not be able to top Shula's. It is a true steak house andthe quality of the meat is incredible. You can not go wrong if that is where you end up.

Thanks all... I have been thinking about trying Shulas and since we are at the BCV, it will be really esay to walk over. We have tried the Yachtsman Steakhouse and although I really enjoyed the steak, I couldn't handle the smell in that place, it is not a traditional steakhouse smell. (Okay, I know I am strange, but I really couldn't deal with it, I think it something with the wood). Thanks again.
