Where is the best place to get a good steak at WDW that's on the dinning plan without having to use 2 Table Service?

IMHO there isn't one.Le Cellier is what everyone will rave about, but for us we have had better steaks at home.Yachtsman Steakhouse was awesome, but that is 2TS pp.

I like the Strip steak at Ohana and Surf and turf club at SSR I think both are better then LC.

The strip steak at Captain's Grille (in the Yacht Club) was surprisingly good the last time I had it.

my dh and I both had a strip steak at GF Cafe on our trip in Jan. It was very good!

Le Cellier is amazing... I have had the filet, but I actually find the NY Strip with the cream cheese mashed potatoes to be one of the best steaks i have ever had, it is just hard to get a ressie, so make sure you book soon.

We went to Le Cellier during our 2007 trip. My filet was amazing and DH said that his steak (I think it might have been the NY strip?) was the best he ever had. He likes his steaks well done (tragic isn't it?) so some places really mess those up. He was very impressed w/LC...we both were.

Oh yeah...my DS has trouble chewing up and swallowing chunks of meat. He ate pieces of my filet noooo problem.

IMHO, the filet at Le Cellier is so tender that you can cut it with one of the fabulous bread sticks.

The beef tenderloin at Les Chefs is better than any steak at Le Cellier.

I agree with DeborahA. On our trip this past May (trip report link below), we ate at both LeCellier and GF Cafe. I had a steak at both and the one at GF Cafe was better IMO. At LeCellier, I had the Mushroom Filet Mignon with wild mushroom risotto. At GF Cafe, I had the Grilled Rib Eye. I prefered the rib eye at GF Cafe. There was nothing wrong with the filet at LeCellier but for me, the wild mushroom risotto was the better part of that entree. To each there own.

I had the NY strip at Coral Reef and it was really good. I am no food snob but I think I know what a good steak taste like. Good portion only one credit

have had great steaks at Kona Cafe/Polynesian, Grand Floridian Cafe/GFlor, Maya Grill/Coronado Springs, The Wave/Contemporary, Turf Club/Saratoga Springs Resort, Captain's Grill/Yacht Club, Olivia's/Old Key West, Le Cellier/Canada Epcot, San Angel Inn/Mexico Epcot...in other words, most places we've eaten at Disney that had steaks on the menu did a good job with them. And we're from cow-land (Omaha Steaks is only 40 minutes away from home, lol.)

Actually, the only place I can think of we didn't like the steak, was Kouzzina...was so salty, I had to scrape it off.

I am going to put my flame suit on but here is my list of 1ts who IMHO have a better steak than Le'Cellier.

Coral Reef
Captains Grille
Whispering Canyon Cafe

Steak eater here..........and I can say Whispering Canyon has one of the best ribeyes I have ever eaten.

Yep.....one of the best anywhere. It is tender, tasty and not overly spiced. Just perfect everytime.

I'm joining you!!!! Bring on the flames. ALL of these and a host of others are better than Le Cellier. We eat at Le Cellier every trip (we really really like it for lunch) but not for the steak...we go there for the cheese soup, the bread sticks, the smores desert (even that is getting old...double flame coming:) sorry!Q!!), moosehead ale with the prime rib sandwhich is very tasty!!!! but the steaks...nah...I'm sorry, they are "ok" and I'll leave it at that. Personally, I think people LOVE it because it is so darn hard to make a ressie that people really want it to be good...completely understandable. For those of us who eat there there every trip I really have to say, (and I'm sorry Le Cellier lovers) there are better places out there. I'll even try to order a steak there every other time or so and it just doesn't cut it...I love my filet...I REALLY Do...just not here...I eat it, I do like it, it just... isn't....I don't know (this is my lowly and humble opinion..will that spare me some flames??? I'M SO DEAD on this topic) why I keep trying I don't know...we have ressies there again in December but I promise you...no STEAK!!! I'd much rather have the steak at Jiko (mmm mmm good) or Whispering Canyon (ribeye...good!!) which we are doing and will have steaks at both!

This in one persons lowly opinion who has eaten at Le Cellier 7 or 8 times in the past 4 years...

Let the FLAMES Commence:banana:

No flames from me. The consensus here would likely be that LC, a Dole Whip, and School bread would be the choice for a last meal.

All that stuff is gross.

I come from a family of steak eaters, and I'm definitely the picky steak eater of the bunch. (Flame suit on, I'm a medium-well closer to well-done kinda girl ...and grisle, etc. - YUCK.)

That said, I've head steak at Coral Reef twice (Dec. 06 was fantastic, August 07 was just ok) and The Wave (Aug 09) - that one was fantastic! I hope it repeats this upcoming trip! I also had one from Pepper Market at CSR (yes counter service, Aug 09) and it was just as good as the second time at Coral Reef.

I agree. Le Cellier is living on a reputation...no longer on the quality of the product offered.

The filet at Les Chefs de France melts in your mouth! We stopped going to Le Cellier because Chefs was better, at least for us. YUM! :goodvibes
