We booked a standard view 2 br villa at Kidani for May, 2011. :goodvibes: We have two young children (13 months and 4). What room (s) should I request?

TIA!

What a coincidence! I was just about to post asking for suggestions for room requests for a dedicated 2 bedroom at Kidani. I was thinking of "lobby level, close to the lobby" but wasn't sure if there was anything else I should ask for. We are staying in early November and will have all adults except for my 3 year old daughter.

I would ask for something a bit higher than lobby level, but close to the lobby. We had a ground floor villa last year, and if you're on the lobby level your deck is right beside the pathway/sidewalk. Even though I LOVE to people watch, it did feel alittle weird having people a foot or so away from you as you try to catch some of the warm sun in March. :)

We have been in a standard view studio before and I think our view was mostly parking lot. We could sorta see the pool but since the pool is a bit set back from the buildings (across the parking lot I believe?) there wasn't much to see...at least not from our room. I don't remember there being any rooms right next to the pool but others might chime in.

Been doing some searching of old threads. Actual booking categories are Savannah or Standard. It appears that of the standard views, most are parking lot or pool view but there are about 10% that are obstructed/partial savannah views. These were once considered "Savannah" but were re-classified as "standard". The downside is that the obstructed/partial savannah views can be a long hike to the lobby.

We were at Kidani this July and loved it!!!! We had a 2 BR lockoff with standard view. I asked to be as close to the pool as possible. We were put on the 4th floor (do not remember the room number off the top of my head) with a pool view. If I knew how to post pictures, I would show you the wonderful view of the savannah that we had. It was amazing. Saw animals all day, every day, although no giraffes or zebras. You did have to look off to the right, but it was still a great view. If you haven't been yet, the kids will love the pool area. We could have stayed at Kidani without going to the parks and kids (1, 4, 7, and 11) would have been thrilled. Parks were just a bonus. Our 1 year old loved taking the long walk (and it was kinda long) to the lobby in his stroller. We had to stop at every window in the hallway to look at the animals. So plan ahead and leave time to stop and enjoy. Good luck, hope you have as great a time as we did!

Just back and I wanted to update this post. I ended up just requesting "close to the lobby". I didn't think we would be spending that much time out on the balcony so didn't care what view we got. Guess I should have said, "Close to the lobby and quiet". We got 7213 (standard dedicated 2 bedroom). It was a great location. Lobby level and the first room just after entering the building from the doors close to the bus stop. But the problem was that it got really noisy once the buses started up in the morning and people started using that walkway in the morning. Not a great location if you want to sleep in past 7:30a!

I'm glad I found this thread, we are booked for standard view, one bedroom, at Kidani and I was thinking about requesting pool view. Not that we'll probably be swimming in January but I thought it would be nicer to look at than the parking lot. It would be great to have a partial view of the savannah. Even if it is blocked. So should I request "high floor, pool view"?? THANKS! :)
