best standard rooms at Paradise Pier?

Hi All,

I have a standard room booked at PP next weekend. Are there any spots that are much better than others, eg a shorter walk to the parks? I was thinking of asking for a lower level room just in case I want to take the stairs if the elevator is slow.

We were there 2 weeks ago.

I'm not sure any room at PP would give you a shorter walk unless you asked for a room close to the elevators. All traffic goes through the lobby to the front or towards the parkade and pathway to Downtown Disney at the back.

if you want a shorter walk to the park, simply go through the Grand Californian hotel. The crosswalk is right by the hotel, so it's definitely the shortest route to the parks.

I can't comment on the stairs, but we didnt' have many problems with wait times for the elevators. We were in 812 (looking towards California Adventure). We always took the centre elevator (glass elevator) UP (you can't take it down) because it just seemed quicker and we liked the view. Early in the morning or after the fireworks we did have to wait 5 minutes to be able to fit into an elevator with everyone coming and going from the hotel, but it wasn't anything that was unbearable. It's Disneyland a 5 minute wait is nothing

Personally, I liked having a bit of a view versus having a lower floor. Plus, I did notice a fair bit of traffic noise through the windows, so being higher up might make for a quieter room.

If no free upgrade is offered (and you do stand a reasonable chance of that), then I would go for closer to the elevator, and lower floor. I have been stuck at those elevators too many times to risk it. If there is no perk, like a view room or suite, then it doesn't really matter and I would go for less walking and not risk waiting.

We love PP though, and I hope you have a wonderful stay.
