Best Spot for Pixar Parade?

We will be watching the Pixar Play Parade our first day at the parks (Tuesday May 5th!) at 5:40pm. We will be heading straight back to Disneyland when its over, where should we sit and how early should we get seats?

I know its going to be a swarm of people b/c CA closes at 6pm, so what is our best strategy? Sit near the beginning of the parade and then try to beat the crowds out, or sit near the entrance?

I remember reading about how people made it back after the EP for Fireworks but don't remember the strategy! Hopefully someone can help.

I have two areas I like -

1) Baby Care / Boudain Sourdough Bread Tour/ Mission Tortilla Factory

2) The Sun Plaza (hub area) with your back to the Soarin path or the bakery.

we had an awesome spot right across the entrance from Condor Flats...if you don't want to sit on the curb, you can stand back ten feet and stand up on the cement benches that line the flower beds.
