never been to not so scary, but seen the parade on you tube. Anyone got suggestions for viewing spots?

We sat in Liberty Square, somewhere near the Haunted Mansion...maybe you can tell exactly where from photos? I'm terrible at locations. But it was an excellent spot!

A look at the MK Parade Route-

Both the MVMCP and MNSSHP parades start near Spalsh Mtn. and exit near the Firehouse.
Less crowded than on Main Street, but still spectacular viewing can be found near the Hall of Presidents, or deep into Frontierland, past the Country Bears.

My favorite spot for any parade is right across the street from Liberty Tree Tavern. There's a brick wall that we sit on and is high up enough to see over people's heads! Last year, we stayed in the same spot we were in for the Villain Spelltacular in front of the castle and it was a great spot as well.

I'll also chime in that I like to be on the Frontierland/Liberty Square side of things. It 'feels' like I can move around more in that part of the route and adjust my viewing depending on crowds. Plus, it's over the quickest, so I can on my merry way to more rides before everyone else. :-)

Main Street has the best atmosphere views but it's crowded and you have to stake a spot way to early for my liking. I'm with the others, we do Liberty Square either by Pecos bill or by Sleepy Hollow. Sleepy Hollow was perfect for us last year bc they had the hitchhiking ghost magic shot behind us. We were able to get a front row spot, grab food to eat there, and then take turns getting the magic photo to pass the time. I want to say we got a front row spot about 30 min before the parade thus not wasting to much party time either.

This thread makes me laugh.

Well, we've got the main 2 spots locked down, Main St and Frontierland. That's just about the entire parade route. Neither location is a secret "best spot". Neither parade is the "best parade" either. Especially if the weather is rough for the first one.

We were at the 2nd party in 2014, it was raining lightly for the first parade to the point that all dancers and characters were doing their "B" routines on the street. So when the weather eased up for the 2nd parade, a lot of people stuck around to see the "A" routines going full out. I saw little difference in attendance between the 2 parades.

I have only been once and we had a good spot between Pecos Bill's and Country Bears

We try to get a spot in Frontierland, around the walkway to pirates, where the parade begins. Because it's technically not on the route, we were able to snag a spot without much of a wait, but because it's a walkway, it is cleared of people, so you can see the parade just fine to the right (this is around where it says crossover on Robo's map).

The poster asked our suggestions for parade route spots and we answered.

haha! Now I see how that's funny! :confused3

It is funny. There's only so many places to watch the parade from. The best spot is whatever someone makes of a place they find.

Besides, the "best spots" are supposed to be the ones that you have to pay for with the "up-charge" events (dinner/dessert parties).

My brain is wonky today. When reading the title I got, "best spot to boo the parade".

I agree about the second parade. With the electric parade, there was always less people. (I know it is a different parade but it makes sense to me.) I also think frontierland is the best place. I like to be between country bear and splash.
