best snorkeling on 4 day wonder?

We are taking the 4-day wonder over NYE, with a stop in freeport. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the best snorkeling there is? We took the 7 day western last january and I caught a bad cold and could not snorkel and hubby was very disappointed (he said it would be no fun without me) so I am hoping to make it up to him on this trip. We have our own equipment so is there any place that we can just go to on our own without booking an excursion?

Castaway has some great snorkeling if you go out early before everyone has stired up the water. Also if you do an excursion. I have booked Stuarts Cove, they have a website, I just cant find it right now, its resonably priced and has some great sites, I have heard wonderful things about them.

I have heard that you have to go out very far at Castaway Cay to see anything at all because of the sand getting stirred up and fish getting scared away. I just went on the 4-day in September and booked the Catamaran Sail and Reef Snorkeling in Nassau. We were very pleased with that excursion. I would recommend doing that. I think it was $42 a person. Also, besides the snorkeling, you get the sailing ride which is a nice way to relax and see a little bit of Nassau without walking around. I think the sail was about 45 min. each way.

I agree with Marshmelo..we did the Catamaran Snorkel excursion and had a great time. Although after we got out there my DS6 decidied he didn't like to snorkel so he sat on the catamaran. But the snorkeling was great we saw lots of fish and the visibility was good.
