Best Snacks

I could swear we got granola there too... :scratchin 'Course, hubby was always packin' some sort of snack or other that he picked up from someplace and lugged in with him (including saltine crackers from DLH room service soup :rotfl2: ) so maybe we brought it in? Sheesh, hate to steer you wrong here. But, worth a look. I'm almost positive if it wasn't granola, it was nuts or something. But, most definitely the fruit was there. :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to heading over to Bengal BBQ too, which you all have mentioned. We've never gotten anything there, and it sounds like there are some good snack options.

That fruit in DLR - all over DLR - I tell ya, it's magic fruit. SO yummy! The chicken skewers at Bengal BBQ are quite tasty, and you don't feel so much like you are eating junk. It feels like a good, fairly healthy, snack to have if you want to forget about the messy, warm, ooey gooey, cinnamon-y goodness that you had the day before at the Blue Ribbon Bakery!!;)

Welcome to our happy little DISboards!!:goodvibes

Beware that the lines at Bengal BBQ tend to be long. I had always wanted to try it but the lines always kept me away. PinkBudgie and I went there on New Years Day and we made a point of being there close to 11am when they first open and there were only 2 or 3 people ahead of us. So be prepared to wait in line or go when they first open. It was very good though.

Thanks for the welcome! I've just been haunting the boards for the last couple hours or so...so much information! And, just the nicest group so far. Pretty new to boards, so this has been quite a pleasant introduction!

Thanks for the tip! Since most lines are pretty short or non-existent when we go (mid-week, off season) hopefully this wont be the case :crowded: , but we'll head over when you recommended if they are.

Beware - it's addictive on this board! You start out thinking, "Oh, I'll just go on for a few hours to gather some info and ask a question and then I'm done," and then a full year later, you are almost 3,000 posts and two trip reports into it!! (Not that I am referring to myself or anything...ahem...;) ;) ;) ) Once you're in, you're in. Now we won't let you escape even if you TRY to get away!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ohhhh a Tigger Tail....a mess of gooey yummyness. LOL It's 3 marshmallows on a stick, dipped in caramel, then coated in orange chocolate and drizzled with milk chocolate. OMG, YUM! :) DD9 and I like to share one....every day......more than once a day would be perfect but we are good and limit it to once a day and on our long trips we limit it to every other day. LOL And the orange chocolate part really deterred me, I'm not a fan of orange chocolate but man, I'm soooooo glad I went for it because they are sooooooooooooooooooooooo good! :)

I saw the Tigger Tails at the snack counter in Pooh Corner - but I'm not big on marshmallows. Instead DW & I had the Caramel Macadamia Nut treats that were beside it (it had a chocolate Mickey head on it, too). Very, very, very good!!!
:)

So just a quick question, which is a bit "off topic" I guess one would say...? What is the easiest way to keep up with a thread. Like, if I do manage to pull myself away (which I did for about 20 minutes! whoohoo!! :cool1:) When one returns, do they just navigate through to the threads they want or is there an easier way to find updates for a particular thread? Any hints, say from you "almost 3,000 posts later" people? :rotfl2:

Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards, hope you don't mind me jumping in... I've been loving this thread on snacks at Disneyland! So helpful. Sometimes you just don't want that much, AND don't want to spend $20 a person... Can't wait to try the Tigger Tails after all the love being said about them here. :lovestruc Now, I know this is going the super healthy, super boring route, but we found the granola bags and fruit really refreshing sometimes after od'ing' on a lot of "junk" (by "junk" I actually mean the good stuff :rotfl2: ). Over at the retail by Jungle Cruise. Hope they are still offering those.
Oh, and irony here... it's been humorous to listen to the locations of everyone on this thread, being that I grew up in Oregon (the Northwest) and now live in VV (No. California). Hello neighbors!

Welcome neighbor! :) It's so much fun to see people so close here. :)

Easiest way? I just keep coming back and seeing what thead has a new post. It shows what threads you've posted on with a little check mark.:) I scan for checkmarks and then see if I'm the last poster, if not I check the thread. :)

So when we were there the 3rd-8th I noticed a ton of new fruit options, they have apples presliced w/peanut butter and w/caramel. They had strawberries with chocolate, they had HUGE amounts of yummy fruits. Oh and veggies, they now have baby carrots w/ranch now. YUM I didn't see granola but I wasn't looking. I'll look for that next time too. :)

You can subscribe to the threads you post on. You don't even have to post anything relevant. Just if you see a thread you like and want to keep updated on it, you can post a little emoticon or something to subscribe. When you are typing in the Reply box, scroll down the page to where it says Thread Subscription, and choose what you want. I think you can also go into your User CP (upper left side of screen) and you will find an area where you can manage your subscriptions. Every time someone posts on that thread, it will send you an e-mail. If you don't post anything after a while, the e-mail alerts will stop, but you can remedy that by just posting a quick little message. Also, you can come on to the first page of the Disneyland section here and tell which posts you have subscribed to/posted on because you will see a little blue box next to them, on the right-hand side. Any thread titles with unread (by you) posts will be in a dark brown color, and the ones you have already seen will generally be in a light brown color.

Oooooohhhhh.....apples with peanut butter! Yum. One of my all-time favorite snacks. I wonder if you can get them without the caramel. Or maybe the caramel comes in its own little container that I can ignore?? I love to munch on baby carrots too. I love those little snack packs they sell in the grocery store!

Did you say STRAWBERRIES with CHOCOLATE???? Is it dipping chocolate???
I love strawberries and chocolate!!!! Can't wait!!! I have my list...strawberries with chocolate, churros, pineapple spear, Dole Whip, fruit tart, cinnamon roll, etc. Just roll me toward the gate at closing time. I am feeling like the blueberry girl on Willy Wonka!

Matterhorn-shaped, chocolate drizzled, coconut macaroons from the Blue Ribbon bakery. If you get one warm, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven.
Totally agreed, i cross my fingers every time i go hoping that they will have them.

Love the corn dogs. Although they tend to be a bit too dark on the brink of burning. Still love them though and they are huge.

We have never tried strawberry shortcake. Nowhere in Australia seems to sell them. I know they used to sell it in the park- any idea if I can taste some nearby DL when we visit in April. My kids don't even realize its actually food - they think it's the name of a cartoon character...lol

Anyone know where I can get a apple pie carmel apple? I read somewhere they will cut it for you too.

It's really easy to make your own Strawberry Shortcake if you can't find any when you come over. There are a couple different ways to make it but basically you cut up strawberries and we always smash them up a little and add a little bit of sugar which makes sort of a sauce but I've also had it with non-smashed cut strawberries. Then you just put that on top of either angel food cake or pound cake (both of which can be bought pre-made or made from scratch) or you can make a sweet biscuit type of thing to put it on. Then on top of the strawberries you can put whipped cream or you can serve it with vanilla ice cream. Yum!

That's funny that your kids think it's just a cartoon character. I used to love playing with my Strawberry Shortcake toys back in the early 80s.

there's a store by the exit of splash mountain and the exit of winnie the pooh ride. inside theres a corner that sells cookies ,cupcakes, carmel apples and rice crispy treats. i've gotten the apple pie carmel apple there and it was really good.

They are suuuuper good! :thumbsup2

We always get mine at Pooh's Corner at the exit of the Pooh ride in Critter Country. I believe if you ask they can cut it for you.
