Best Snacks for a Meal?

Going in December and there are two adults and two under two years old - so they will be eating off our meals. We (the adults) rarely eat three times a day, so I was curious what snack options are best for a meal? What are you favorites? Looking for more savory items than sweets.

For example, heard the chicken fried rice at Yak and Yeti cafe is big and a snack credit.

Thanks!

You can get a baked potato at Liberty Square Market in Magic Kingdom for a snack credit. This is one of our favorite uses of a snack credit:)

Are you on the DxDDP, The DDP or paying OOP.
Personally, I don't think any 1 snack item is big enough to share for a meal in and of itself. I would not want my dinner to be just chicken fried rice.
Lots of people do take sweet pastries back to their room for part of their breakfast. But you said you were looking more savory
Good Luck

Thanks! I am thinking more of a snack item for the 2 year old twins as a full meal would be too much for them (and if the adults are not eating) and a waste. Mac and cheese, fried rice, baked potato

We will have DDP.

We found these fruit and cheese trays at some of the kiosks in animal kingdom that came with crackers for a snack credit. They were perfect for lunch for my 22 month old.

Oh that is perfect! I was planning on bringing some snacks in the park but wanted to know my options inside. Thanks for the tip on AK!!

I think the have them at HS and mk too at some of the carts. At most ts places, I would swap a dessert for a side of either fries or a vegetable for him too. The only place I got push back was at Skipper Canteen. At rose and crown I swapped my dessert, for fries and he ate fish or my plate. It was really plenty food. We were on dxddp. We paid out of pocket for a few breakfasts at the food court, and I got him a fruit cup for a snack credit and let him eat a waffle or the biscuit off my plate.

Soup, breadsticks, side salad at Pinnochio Village Haus are all snack credits.
Broccoli and couscous are both snack credits at Columbia Harbour House....the soup used to be, but I'm not sure now as it isn't showing it is on allearsnet. I'd be surprised if it isn't.

Writer's Stop at HS has a charcuterie board that is a snack credit.

I had snacks for my mid-day meal a lot on DDP b/c we had so many credits with 4 of us, and all the rides made me less than hungry! Gaston's Tavern has a lot of options - fruit and veg things, and hummus with pretzel chips. All of them are packaged so that you could bring them with you to another quick service place if you wanted, since Gaston's doesn't sell meals, per se. Also in MK in the winter, you can find a snack kiosk that sells soup some times. It was near the Little Mermaid ride; I had minestrone. France in the World Showcase is a good place for snacks, too - a surprising number of the Les Halles menu counts as a snack, lots of desserts, obviously, but also savory - a pizza-like bread thing, ham and cheese croissant, etc. Some other World Showcase places will have savory stuff, too (China, Japan), maybe not as typically kid-friendly as Les Halles' bread-based stuff though.

Awesome, thanks so much for those tips!I love soup, so hopefully that snack kiosk will be available. Adding Gaston's to my list!

We always use our snack credits on the ham and cheese croissants at Les Halles!!! More than once lol! And cheese/crackers/fruit plates are also perfect meals for my kids. They would rather snack instead of eat huge meals most of the time anyway! Especially on vacation :)

I third Les Halles!! So many options and not expensive so you cannot buy them something if you need more than one item.

You might consider buying them one kids meal to split also. Most of the QS locations have these:

Power Pack Lunch
- yogurt, apple wedges, carrot sticks, goldfish crackers, apple-cinnamon snack bar and choice of small lowfat milk or small bottled water $5.49

If you sweethearts can eat what is in it.

Have a magical trip.
