OK folks, heading back to the world this August. We have an evening planned for downtown disney, and have never been there. We also need to find a place to eat there, sit down dinner, meal plan etc. Any opinions on what the best\most interesting place might be? Already have the rest of the week laid out with character meals in or near the parks. :goodvibes

Oh, it will be myself, wife, and 5 year old DD.

I woud say that Raglan Road is a pretty serious contender for best TS at DTD at the moment.

I don't know how many DTD restaurants participate in the DDP, but my sisters family just got back from a trip and loved the Portobello Yacht Club.

Raglan Road is very good, as is Portabello Yacht Club. But we love the House of Blues! :woohoo:

I think the only DTD restaurants on the DDP are Raglan Road, Cap'n Jack's, Wolfgang Puck Cafe and Planet Hollywood.

Wolfgang's, Fulton's or House of Blues. Those are our favs.

I have no idea about the dining plan, but House of Blues is my favorite in DTD. There are several others that are really good as well, it just depends on what you're in the mood for. Fulton's, Portobello's, Wolfgang Pucks, and Ragland Road are all good. Bongos gets mixed reviews. And I tend to stay away from Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe and Cap'n Jacks.

Thanks for the responses all. After reading these, and some other reviews, I think we are leaning toward the Wolfgang Puck place. I want to make the reservations for all this by the end of this week, I know, still 4 months away, but I'll feel better that way. :)

Good luck with your choices.. I vote for Raglan Road and then Portobello Yacht Club as my two faves at DTD....

My vote has to go to the House Of Blues, Portobellos and Wolfgangs. Overall the restaurants at Downtown Disney are very good (ok, maybe not planet hollywood).

Raglan Road is the only restaurant we're having a do-over at this next trip. It's that good! The food is perfect, the waiters wonderful and the atmosphere perfect.

Of course, we're trying Wolfgang Puck's for the first time in addition to RR, and may readjust my opinion. But who can resist a Irish Accent!:confused3 I know, I've read to many romance novels :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I know you said you were going in 4 months but that is definitely not to early to make reservations. With the dining plan picking up popularity, reservations fill up really early. We made ours almost 3 months in advance and had trouble getting a dinner reservation at Coral Reef and 50's Cafe. We had to take lunch reservations at both.

We went back & forth a zillion times between Ragaln Road and Wolfgang Puck's Cafe for our trip next month. Other Disers have mentioned that the menu for WPC has changed (and noted that the menu on allears.net is "outdated") and many of their favs have been taken off of the menu. I agree. There or Wolfgang's.

Can I hope that your tastebuds are kin to mine. We love Raglan Road and have an ADR for there and for Wolfgang Puck during our upcoming vacation. I am a tad nervous about Wolfgang Puck's, but the menu sounds good.

BTW....how is Wolfgang Puck's only a 1 credit dining experience? The prices are crazy there! Maggie

Its not TS but it a GREAT place to eat, I recomend 'Earl of sandwich'. You should try the Cob salad, AMAZING my mom and have it every time we go to DTD :)

We are dining with Earl too, just before we hit the road home. Gotta get a Scudetto and then for desert, we are going over to Cooke's of Dublin for a fried candy bar. Sounds sinful....what a way to say goodbye to WDW. Maggie

OK we would vote as the best counter, cosmic rays rocks, earl of sand,
the best sit down 1 ts meal was le cellier, rose and crown, boma, whispering cannon, the 2 table service was brown derby, and hoop de do, the best steal was le cellier the best buffet was boma/ have fun

Cap'n Jack's and Wolfgang Puck's would be my picks too. I really like the lobster tail at Cap'n Jack's. And WP has great sushi.

Blessed Be,
Tina
