Best single day to go during Spring Break 2023?

Hello. My brother is trying to plan a single day at Disneyland while they are in the LA area during March 11-18. I used to have a Touring Plans subscription but I know they're not as accurate any longer. I told him stay away from Mondays but I wondered what day would be the best to tell him to shoot for. They'll probably only do Disneyland, specifically Galaxy's Edge for my nephew. I looked at the calender and the Keys are only blocked on those weekends. I was tempted to tell him Tuesday since that's earlier in the Spring Break week and would avoid the typical Monday crowds. I'm also thinking Tuesday as that might have people going to CA for their 2nd day. I realize it's all a crapshoot and will be crowded regardless. I told him the best thing is to just get there early for Rope Drop and use Genie+ for the Rise LL.

I don't have the answer for you, but local schools don't have spring break until early April.

Nationally, schools let out around your visit time, but if someone is flying to a Disney property, they're probably going to Disney World.

There are no "good times" and I've watched some bloggers say Mondays have paced up.

My suggestion is find out the fireworks schedule and pick a night you can go where you can get the full Disney experience.

Good luck!

I think your spring break is on the early side… Oregon and Washington most schools arent out until the 25th… so I would suggest Tuesday or Wednesday if they don’t care about nighttime entertainment (which has a very good chance of not running during the week, except for WOC.)

Thanks for the info. Yes, our Spring Break is typically middle of March. I was telling my brother either Sunday or Tuesday. They don't care about fireworks as my nephew is sensitive to loud noises.

FYI, our (very large unified) district in AZ is on spring break the week of 3/12.

Getting a Rise ILL caused me some consternation last week. Definitely refresh routinely, b/c there will be nothing there for hours and hours, and then suddenly availability out of nowhere, and back to nothing. I guess b/c it keeps going down, and they stop selling them while it's down? I managed to get them on day 3 of our trip when an opening suddenly showed up around noon.

Good to know. I've coached him on the Rise ILL and told him to get it as early as possible so he can ensure they'll get to ride it at some point that day.

Personally, I'd recommend Sunday.

For a variety of reasons, Sundays seem to be less crowded, especially in the mornings. I've read that and heard that in a few places, and it's been my personal experience too in my trips to DL the last couple of years.

I was just there the week before Christmas, and Sunday was definitely the least crowded of our Park days (Sat-Tues). We didn't rope drop but did Genie+, and we were able to use it for 8 rides over the course of the day Sunday and could have done one or two more but knew we had more park days coming so didn't push it.

We wound up skipping RotR this trip, primarily because it was down every time we had an opening and didn't want to pay for an ILL

We have always had good luck on Sundays at both DL and WDW.

We were there Spring Break last year at that exact time you're mentioning (which is the first weekend/week of spring break for BC & AZ) and it was pleasant on Saturday & Sunday (so this year, that would be the equivalent of the 11th and 12th). Then on the Monday - BAM! CRAZY!!! Wall to Wall crowds!

We figured out it was because passholders couldn't come on the weekend, and a lot of people coming in from out of town were still in the midst of traveling there. My vote would also be for Sunday the 12th!

Were going again this spring Break at the same time, but added an extra day so we can do the parks in smaller doses each day. We're really looking forward to having a more relaxed experience this time... relatively speaking... lol!
