We'll be going to SeaWorld for the first time during our Disney trip in Feb. What are the "not to be missed" shows there? Also which ride did you like the best?

Oh and I'm also looking for restaurant recommendations.

Thanks!

Hands down the Clyde and Seamore show.

Other then that the few rides they have are nice

Not sure about eats as we just did a grab and sit.

We were in Sea World in November and everyone LOVED Blue Horizons.
My DD also enjoyed the Clyde and Seamore show. :thumbsup2

Shows - Blue Horizons, Odyssea, Clyde and Seamore...NOT Believe (I was very disappointed in that show)

Rides - Journey to Atlantis or Wild Arctic

Restaurants - Seafire Inn or Mango Joe's Cafe

Make sure u get to the Clyde & Seamore show early so u can catch the mime hes very funny, Kraken is excellent coaster, JTA is good but be prepared to get soaked, proper sit down meal would be Sharks Underwater grill, but I agree Mango Joe's is pretty good as is smoky creek grill, also lets not forget the free beer :thumbsup2

you should be able to do all the shows and rides in one day.
my favorite show there has nothing to do with the sea, i forget what its called but it is the one with the dogs, cats, pigs, etc

Oh, I forgot all about Pets Ahoy...Yes, that is a great show. I'd recommend seeing it.

I don't remember what it was called - maybe Odyssea? - but there is a show that is all human performers in an indoor arena, it is a cirque-type show and it was VERY good. The Clyde & Seymour show is cute but I think it's the same show I saw there as a kid, 25 years ago! Haven't seen Believe so I can't comment, but I know the killer whale show they had just before Believe started was pretty lame. Nothing but Shamu swimming around, Shamu splashing, Shamu swimming around some more, Shamu splashing some more, and Shamu splashing again. Big whoop.

I really enjoyed the Believe show. I thought it was awesome and one of the best aquarium shows I have even seen. I have read here that many haven't enjoyed it. I almost wanted to go back and watch it again.

We usually hit the shows at New England Aquarium/Hershey Park so we skipped out on the dolphin and sea lion shows. Sounds like we should of hit some of those as well.

IMO Blue Horizons is the best, but IMO each one there is worth seeing, even the Pets one.

When we went I don't think it would have been possible to see all the shows in one day, which IMO was planned that way. Too many shows start almost the exact time as other shows. We spent two days there and saw all the shows including seeing Blue Hoizons and Believe twice.

And IMO Believe is better at night. See the last show if you can.

Funny enough in a park where the marine life should be the favorite we actually like the Pets Ahoy show the most. It just amazes me the show that the dogs and cats and other animals put on. The trainers are awesome and it's an adorable show. Also a great show to go to when it's hot out, since it's inside and air conditioned.:thumbsup2

Pets Ahoy! was great!
Clyde and Seymore was good but the new pirate theme show was not as good as some older shows.
Blue Horizons is worth it.
Osyssea is good, kinda a poorman's Cirque de Solei.
But, I have to agree with a previous poster that the new Believe show was, in a word, LAME! Go to it, it's the only Orca show in the park! but it has some really poor parts where the trainers make it all about them.
You will get wet on Journey to Atlantis...especially in the front row. Kraken was down the afternoon I got the nerve up...
The Shamu Express was a great family roller coaster and they offer good and (relatively) inexpensive coaster pictures at the end.
We ate at Mama's Kitchen which was a limited menu of very healthy food. We also ate at the Hospitality deli...good options there... and FREE BEER!

Lyzziesmom, the show you are talking about was Cirque de la mar. It is has been gone for about four years, it was one of the best shows, I have ever seen. I really miss it.

No, that's not the show, because we were just there last year and that was the first time I have been there since the 1980's. I'm pretty sure it was Odyssea. Whatever it was called, it was really good and very enjoyable!

We (my wife, sons (13/11), and I) just got back from the Christmas holidays at Sea World and Universal. Had a wonderful time!!!

Don't miss:

Blue Horizons Show: Our favorite show, one of the best we've seen anywhere. Great blend of animals (whales/dolphins), human performers, music, and storyline. Very well done.

Clyde and Seamore Show (Seals): Very fun show. Go 15 minutes early to see the mime pirate pre-show. He's a blast!:rotfl2:

Pets Ahoy!: Very cute and VERY well coreographed show.

We were a bit disappointed with the killer whale show, Believe. But go anyway, you guys might like it.

Rides:

If you like coasters, do Kraken. Nice, smooth, but fast. Lots of fun.

Journey to Atlantis: AWESOME ride, but February will be a bit chilly to ride it (it's a water ride).

Very beautiful park with very friendly, helpful staff. Have a great time and let us know how things went!

Do the passengers on this ride get wet?

OH MY, YES!
We asked the staff person at the entrance which row to sit in to get the least wet...she said the 3rd. After the ride we were sure she lied to us and had gotten a good laugh as we headed on in. However, we rode again and sat in the front row... WHOA! We were soaked to the bone! Tough to walk around in thoroughly soaked blue jeans!

Our favorite show was Clyde and Seamore. We were amazed -- mouths hanging open amazed. They actually got a Walrus to shake its backside and a Sealion walked down the steps!! This past December was our first trip (we will definitely go to SeaWorld again!) We enjoyed all of the shows. We did not see Odyssea. We did not ride the rides due to height restrictions. We had lunch at the BBQ place. It was the best meal we had during our entire trip --1 day at Seworld and 10 days on the dining plan at Disney.

Do the passengers on this ride get wet?

It really depends. We've ridden it several times. The farther back you sit, the less likely you are to get wet, but it's by no means a gurantee. Also, after the big hill, as you sort of drift around in a 180 to go back into the facility, people along the viewing area can put in $.25 to spray boats with water. This is where you can get really wet. The last time I rode, I barely got any water on me. But my oldest son and wife got pretty soaked. We didn't ride over the holidays due to the cooler weather (we've learned our lesson from past experiences). But we did during the our October trip. If we go to a park where there's a wet ride we know we're probably going to be getting on, we wear thin, quick-dry type clothes that day. Works like a charm. I don't trust poncho's anymore. Used one on the Popeye/Bluto ride at IOA several years ago at Thanksgiving and still go my jeans very wet. Like one poster said, it's miserable having to spend a lot of the day in wet jeans and wet underwear. But Journey to Atlantis is a great ride, one of the best water rides we've ever ridden.
