Best Servers on The Magic

when we were on the May 8 Western Leeroy was still there. I wonder if he is still on there. I am worried about him since hurricane Ivan hit Jamaica. He was great with my three girls. They had a blast. His assistant server was Lisa.

If anyone was on a recent cruise and they had Leeroy. Please let me know. For those going on the cruise soon if he see him let him know that Lucinda was looking for him and thinking about him.

Thanks

Is this the same Sachin from India you all are talking about (on the right)? Sorry about the dark pic. We had him in Oct. 2002 on the Magic, he was great! My daughter loved our servers, I think DH did too!

This is great, I am glad to see so many replies...! :jumping1:

So, :worship:SACHIN seems to have made an impression on many of you... what rotation is he typically on (what restaurant for the first night)?

I have been on 5 DCL cruises and never had a magic trick done... I must not be doing something right... lol... :scratchin

On my Cruise last new years though, with SONNY as lead server, we had missed the dinner that had the wonderful Beef WEllington (my favorite :cloud9: dish), after telling Sonny how disappointed we were, the next night, the chef cooked us 2 full beef wellington roasts.... we ate until bursting and still had some to go! LOL...

:hyper: What sorts of other fun things have your servers done?

Actually, Sachin did some similar things. When we found out that Creme Brulee would be served on the night we were going to Palo, we were disappointed. But Sachin had three fresh Creme Brulees delivered to our cabin the next day. Then, on Tropical night, we weren't able to go to dinner because DD had a migraine. I stopped in to tell the head server, Sachin took our order and loaded up a tray of food from the menu and brought it to our room, complete with the usual extra food. I don't think he was supposed to do either of these things, but he's an "above and beyond" kind of guy. We tipped him well, maybe not well enough! About 50% extra, but you know. Yes, he did magic trips, napkin folding, escorted our DD to the table, and called her "Princess" all week. He talked to us about his home. She ate it up. We had no table mates, so he and Dragan, the assistant server, kind of kept us company when they could.

We had a server named Aleksandra from the Netherlands on one of our first cruises. She was great. I think she got married to another server from India and she is no longer on the ship. One of other favorites was Orlan from the Philippines. He did magic tricks and brain teaser puzzles every night. We went with my parents and our two girls who were 19 and 17 at the time. They had a blast.

Each night that we went to the dining rooms, several servers would try and escort them to the table, but Orlan would always tell them "they are mine". They had a great time having so much attention paid to them. One night my youngest daughter wanted nothing for dessert. Orlan brought out a plate with "nothing" written in chocolate syrup. We made her hold up the plate and took a picture. It wasn't until we got the pictures developed that she realized Orlan had also stood behind her with two small plates on the sides of her head. She looked like Mickey.

Your servers can really break or make your meal.

Magic Tricks and napkin hats. Orlan turned my son into Peter Pan with a green napkin. The girls at our tables became Princess'. Always had the chicken ready for my son, as that was his favorite and seemed to be all he ate. Made Mickey ears out of ketchup. Got ice cream special with jimmies for the kids. Took the kids dancing during one night. Alvira was kind of new, so she was still learning. He was fun with us and they always had my DW's favorite drink on the table waiting.

he did this for us as well. He was really great.

I really think DCL has a large number of servers like this. We started with a guy from the Ukraine, stiff and formal. I actually got our table switched, that just wasn't what we wanted. He was new (from Celebrity I think), he's probably been "indocrinated" by now (or he's gone). It's great that going to dinner with the 'rents is more fun than staying in the Clubs for most kids.

We had Sachin on the APL rotation. And I think we had a different one then the one pictured. There were 2. We had Sachin A.

Just wanted to add Sylvester from India(head server), Kendall from Trinidad(***'t server) and Jean from France (Palo) to the list!

Ha-ha....my abbreviation for assistant just got censored!!!!!!!!

Finally I can add my 2 cents....

We had Sonny (Philipines) and Matilda (India) in August. They were AWESOME!!!

We loved Louise in Palo's....she's an excellent server and very friendly.

Hey Marie,

We had Sunny and Mathilda as servers on our 8/7 cruise too! They were great. Were you late or early dining?

Cynthia

Our servers for our party of 11 (including my very picky father) were Ronald (Netherlands) and William (India). Both were "EXCELLENT", as they like to say. They did magic tricks for the kids and kept bringing extra food for DH and BIL.
On the wonder last year our server was Alun from Scotland. Wonderful service, plus an accent to die for (sigh).

Is Louise the one with the blond hair in the short pigtail? There are two girls there with short blond hair, one is a bit bigger of a girl than the other and I can never remember which is which...

Our servers on the 11/15/03 Eastern were Rudy from South Africa and Bayoki was our assistant server. Nadege was our Head Server. ALL of them were fantastic and treated the children so well. Rudy even teased me telling me that they stopped serving the adult Mickey Bars one night because there wouldn't be enough for the children. I told him that I didn't believe it because I had read on the boards that people had ordered them. He gave such a "sincere" appology that I told him to just bring me something else. LOL! The kids loved both of them & DD says that she wants to marry Rudy & live on the Mickey boat. :)

If anyone has talked to Rudy PLEASE let me know if he should be on the ship this fall. He had 2 more cruises to go before his break for his first Christmas home in 5 years! That meant that he probably returned in February and would be on break now? He should be back in December I would guess?

We had Fitz on the Magic back Oct '01 and Navneet in Sept '03. We loved Fitz so much we named our dog after him!!! Anyone know if he is still on the ship?

We've had so many great servers:

Jeff now a, oh shoot, dining room host(can't remember what they are called..sorry Jeff), Ellen, now in Entertainment, Pema, still on the Magic last December; Mark from the UK and Vlado from Croatia, both have left DCL so I was told, last cruise, Sylvester from India and Ivan from Bulgaria, haven't heard anything about Ivan lately..Sylvester is still there though. Maclean and John, the same title as Jeff....and then there is Palo....

Christian, Kristoff, Marco, and the ever delightful PJ. (Sorry have not had the pleasure of meeting Gemma..maybe next trip).

Anne Marie, now a bar manager and Danielo at the bar at the Mickey Pool.

I will be out in search for all of them come December.

Phyllis

I must acknowledge Sky , Hungary, and Sunil, India, from room service on Magic. I have had the pleasure of Sky bringing my am coffee for the last three cruises. Sky and Sunil were a room service team this past January. Just as much fun as the dining staff.

lbgraves-- we just got from the ill-fated, abbreviated 9/7 cruise on the Magic, but Rudy was our server and he was fantastic. Nadege was there as well as head server. A young woman named Moni was our assistant server. They were all great-- a real bright spot in an otherwise dismal trip for us.
