Best Seats in each Roller Coaster

I prefer the back for most coasters. The first row is great for EE because you get that amazing view. But if you’re looking for more thrills, get the back. That’s me in the second-to-last row. I screamed more than my 6-year-old, who is behind me. And my husband clearly didn’t know which side the camera was on.

We like the front on EE because of the view.

The back on Big Thunder Mountain - we sat in the front last trip, it felt like we could walk faster than the car train was moving. We could turn around and have relaxed, full conversations with my brother!

Space - anything.

Mine Train - last row, last car, very fun!

I know the answers can very quite a bit but it would be interesting to see which seats are the most popular for each coaster at WDW. So please let me know what you think and why you pick your favorite loaction for each coaster. We just might get a consensus of opinion on each coaster.

Yes, you're right , the answers can vary depending on the experiences you seek!
From past experiences, I know the back of any coaster is usually the most vivid, thrilling ride sensation.

I can no longer do the thrill rides, but can do 7DMT IF I ride the front car. That's my limit these days with neck issues, but I really enjoy it.

BTMRR - the last car is the wildest ride in the wilderness.
SDMT - the last car is the most fun - a lot of hang time up front.
SM - I think the front car is the scariest because of the darkness.
EE - front or back are both great because you spend part of the ride in reverse. I may prefer the front for the view just before you go in reverse and the speed in the reverse section but the big drop is more fun from the back.

Btmrr - last car makes this a fun ride
Sdmt - last car...the front will get all the way down a hill before the train starts moving
Sm - every seat sucks equally...such a rough ride(still fun though)
Ee - anywhere really, back is a little better but front is fun as well
RnRc - back, just cause it's fun to watch the train twist and turn in front of you
SDD - back actually gets a little airtime on the hills which was surprising for such a slow coaster

I always prefer the back. (Space doesn't matter so much.) I can notice hang time even on Rock n Roller Coaster, and I HATE hang time. If it looks like I'm going to be in the front half of the train, I'll ask to wait. I don't need the last row, but mostly just toward the back. Especially on trips where I know I'm only going to get one ride on an attraction. Crowds and wait times were so huge my last trip that I knew I only had Rope Drop on 7DMT and my FP for RnR. So I made sure to get a better seat. I knew I'd get multiple rides on BTMRR, so I wasn't as picky.

BTMR - Always as far back as possible. I'll take anything in the back half of the train, but my favorite is always way in the back. I just don't want the front because on that last hill, the front of the train is down the hill already before the train is even off the pull chain.
7DMT - I don't ride this one as often so I don't have a real opinion - I'm assuming I'd prefer back based on all said here
RnR, EE - Front for the views, back for the thrills
SM - I like the front for the views - one of my favorite parts of that ride is coming up the initial lift hill and leveling out to see the stars everywhere. In the front, it feels like it's just you in the universe. Also, the first (and 4th) seat of the train are more comfortable in my opinion leg room wise since you don't have to put your feet around the seat of the person in front of you. It definitely makes it a little easier to get in and out of the train that way.

For me, the place I always like to sit for any roller coaster is outside while waiting for my family to ride.

You can't convince me that the back row isn't the best on Rock'n'Roller Coaster & 7DMT. I still like it, but 7DMT is way too tame in the front. I think back is better on Big Thunder but I don't notice as big of a difference. I prefer the 5th seat on Space; the 6th (very back) is a little too bumpy and can hurt but the 5th is a good balance of thrilling but not concussion-causing. I've never really noticed a huge difference on Everest but I don't think I've ever sat in the very back, the very front does give a great view of everything so that's a plus.

If you want a tamer experience, sit in the front. If you want to feel like you're going faster and have more thrill, then sit in the back. This goes for nearly every coaster inside Disney and at other theme parks.

The only one that comes to mind where it doesn't matter is Space Mountain. The car length is so short it really doesn't make a difference where you sit.

Coasters like 7dmt, Big Thunder, Expedition Everest..It's like night and day for the front vs the back

Yeah, but on EE, since it goes backwards for a part of it, being in the front is like being in the back for that part. If you want the least intense, you may need to split the difference on that one and take the middle.

It's not really "slower" as all cars in a train move at the same speed. The front and back feel different because of where you are when the train is moving fastest, i.e. climbing a hill or falling down one. You get less "air time" in the front.
