I need some help deciding on restaurants to visit during my trip to Orlando later this month. We love seafood, so a good seafood experience is a must (somewhere that offers variety and lobster). I've considered going to Coral Reef while at Epcot, but I keep reading mixed reviews. Now I'm debating if we should do Coral Reef or Marrakesh while at Epcot. If we do Marrakesh..we will eat seafood outside of Disney. Any recommendations??

I can't answer your question about the best seafood in Orlando, but in my opinion, the Coral Reef is a place to avoid!

Flying Fish at WDW...Not real familiar with Orlando as a whole though.

I've had grouper (my favorite fish) both at the Flying Fish and the California Grill and both were excellent. I have had the oysters appetizer and the scallops entree at Narcoosee's and both were just okay. I'm not really sure outside of WDW though.

Best Seafood I've had in Orlando is at Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney. It's a huge boat that sits on the water. Ask for an outside table, and with some nice wine and the gentle breeze from the water... its incredible! They fly in thier seafood fresh everyday, or at least thats what they say. I adore their crab legs and crab lobster bisque. Amazing!! Pricey, but well worth it.

I agree - avoid Coral Reef. It's a neat setting, but the food is nothing to be excited about - bland, and extremely over-priced, IMO. I've heard good things about Flying Fish, but haven't tried it yet. My dad had a twin lobster tail at Fulton's a couple of weeks ago on a business trip, and said it was very good!

Orlando has some good fish places but you will pay top dollar for lobster, mainly (get it!) because cold lobster is flown in and spiny lobster (caught in fla) is not in season.

Try Seasons 52, Roy's, Bonefish Grill outside of WDW...but Flying Fish is very good. Potatoe crusted Red Snapper dish is the awesome.

Oh ya....Todd English's bluezoo in the dolphin and swan has good shellfish.

Enjoy

We enjoyed Angels at the Holiday Inn - Nikki off 192 on our last visit. The seafood is good quality, I really loved all you can eat crab leggs - just make sure you go early, huge crowds!

At Disney we enjoy Cape May Cafe at BC.

We usually go to Bahama Breeze once every trip. It's just across from Downtown Disney. This year we're going to try Bonefish as well.

Are you looking for fried seafood type place or a grilled/sauteed fish type place? What kind of atmosphere adult oriented or kid friendly? How about prices?

Fishbones on Sand Lake Rd (Not to be confused with Bonefish Grille, which is a chain...). Among the best seafood (and steaks, for anyone in your party who isn't a seafood lover) restaurants I've ever been to... and originally being from New England, I have been to MANY!!!!

we discovred the crab house on our last drip to disney. it is not in disney but just outside in the downtown area. they have a seafood buffet that is to die for. if you love seafoos like we do you have to give it a try. the prices are also reasonable nothing like prices in disney. :earboy2:

I have yet to be at Disney and not eat lobster at Fulton's! It is Australian lobster, which better, but more expensive. Fulton's is always a must do for our family.

Gatour...We're into broiled dishes and menus with great variety. Thanks everyone for your advice. Fulton Crab House sounds good.

We really enjoy Fulton's but IMHO Fishbones is amazing. We had a very good meal there the end of Jan. We were staying at the Hawthorn suites universal right around the corner and walked there. Reservations are a must I would say and parking is limited.

The best seafood we have had has been at Moonfish - not on property, obviously, but a very very nice restaurant, great steaks and wine, as well. Also has a sushi bar. Reservations are a must, but it's not a stuffy place - children are a common sight =)

I'll have to try Fishbones next time I'm down there!

I will 3rd, 4th and 5th Fish Bones!!! It was one of the best meals of my life, I had a shrimp and scallop scampi that was TO DIE FOR! The wine menu was very diverse, in selection and price and our waitress was AMAZING! We had 6 adults and 4 children ages 3.4.5 and 8, they were wonderful to all of us. I could see there were a lot of out of towners as well as regulars, locals always know the best places to eat;). I am psyched to go back WDW for many reasons and in the top 5 is Fish Bones:)
