We will be visiting WDW in December with first timers. my uncle (75) has kidney problems that cause his feet, ankles, and lower legs to swell, and my mom (70) has hip pain, plantar fasciitis, and a torn meniscus. I'm thinking walking the parks all day will be very difficult for both of them. They want to see and do it all and keep up with us. My cousin and his young boys will also be joining us and this is a once in a lifetime trip for all of them (we are making it happen with our DVC as a Christmas gift to the family for a reunion). So, I plan to order scooters for my mom and uncle. We once used Walker Mobility and found their service to be excellent, however their scooters are not quite as nice as others I have seen in the parks, and they are not a Disney certified scooter vendor. Anyone used Buena Vista Scooter or Apple Scooter? Any tps or recommendations?

If you head over to the disABILITIES! sub-forum there is a sticky there that will give you a ton of help with this. You will also find reviews/experiences from others there regarding the various companies, tips for using/charging the ECV's, information whether the new DAS would or would not be appropriate for your family member's needs, etc., etc.

That thread has been helpful to me for many years through many different trips....so appreciative of it!

I would suggest going over to the disABILITIES Forum. One of the first threads is the disABILITIES FAQs. On Post #2 we have a lot of information for people with mobility and/or stamina situations, including fairly detailed information about both on- and off-site rentals of ECVs and wheelchairs. To get directly to the disABILITIES FAQs from here just click on the link in my signature.

We always use Apple for my mom's ECV and have been very pleased with them. We've also used Walkers in the past. We were pleased with their service too, but my mom really likes the Go Go Elite ECVs that Apple uses and their prices have always been a little less than the others.

We'll be using Apple again Dec 6th-16, when we are down there.
