Best salads and soups

Lots of places. Did you have a specific location in mind? On site? Off site? As usual, more information from you would help us make better recommendations!

Jolly Holiday bakery has great tomato soup and grilled cheese & really good salads too. We also love the soup & salad in sourdough bowls at Pacific wharf (they will also give you the soup/salad in a cup and the bread on the side with a bag in case you don’t eat it all & want to keep the bread for snacking later).

I remember when it was Pizza Port (now Alien Pizza Planet) they had good salads, but it’s been a few years since we last ate there.

We also really like all the fruit carts they have around the parks now.

And for an off-site option: Panera Bread on Harbor Blvd

My family really likes Pacfic Wharf Cafe! We also like the soup at Royal St. Veranda (we order chowder at both places.. if it isn't the same, it is very similar), but we prefer the location of the PWC.. Royal has very limited seating and is too crowded for us.

I am looking forward to trying the corn chowder at French Market (?) on our next trip!

Clam Chowder from Royal Street Veranda
Gumbo from Cafe Orleans or Blue Bayou
Chicken Tortilla Soup from Carthay Circle Restaurant

Honorable mention for the tomato soup from Jolly Holiday on cold and rainy disney days

I like the salads at Wine Country Trattoria; the ones where you can add grilled chicken or grilled shrimp...mmmmm

I also LOVE the starter salad at the Blue Bayou. The cheese crumbles and their dressing is so good

The best soups and salads within the Disneyland Resort are at the Disneyland Hotel's Thanksgiving Dinner in the Grand Ballroom. It's only one day per year, and it was $180 per adult this past year, but it's the best variety of soups and salads you'll ever devour on property - everything is premium. Beyond that, meh. Most everything else is similar, DL probably uses the same salad blends throughout the resort.

Mimi's Cafe across Harbor Blvd. offers soup, salad and half a sandwich for $10.99; entree salads are $12 - join their promotions list and you'll get perpetual BOGO (with two drinks) coupons. Ask for a table with a monorail view! Or make the trek to Souplantion, and get all the soup and salad you can eat, with every (non-protein) topping imaginable (as well as baked potatoes, a small pasta bar, muffins, ice cream and fruit). Join their e-mail list and you can dine for ~$10, including a beverage, for dinner; some locations also have an "early bird" special for ~$8. Several locations are within a 15-20 minute drive...

I like the Jolly Holiday's tomato soup & the grilled vegetable whole-grain salad!

I like the salads at Alien Pizza Planet. In particular, the antipasto salad.

The best soup is the cheddar beer soup, but it's seasonal. I prefer the steak gumbo from Royal Verandah to any of the "chowders" that seem to be everywhere.

The only meal we have bought on every trip (9 and counting) is the soup in a bread bowl from pacific warf. We love it and find it great value!!!

This trip, since it was chilly, we finally tried soups. Grilled cheese and tomato soup at Jolly Holiday were good; corn chowder at French market was excellent. The green goddess salad at Ralph Brennan’s was also fabulous and a huge portion-we split it and didn’t finish it.

Gumbo....delicious. But I have also had a fabulous chicken, lemon and orzo soup at the Harbor Galley.

Loving this thread, I LOVE soup!!! We are going in September so I am happy there are so many good soups around :thumbsup2

I like the corn chowder at French Market and River Belle Terrace, the tomato soup at Jolly Holiday, and I really enjoyed Walt's chili at Carnation Cafe.

We love the tomato soup at Jolly Holiday. Rancho Rocalo has a soup there too that my daughter gets that is good. Anything at Carnation Cafe is good. Their fried pickles and seasoned french fries are two items we order right away, then we all order. The famous Oscar's loaded baked potato soup is my other daughter's standard order. I always get the meatloaf because it is so delicious. Check this food thread out for pics to see the portion size.
https://www.disboards.com/threads/m...-with-pictures.1253888/page-237#post-61420770or search figment_jii for the posts to see all the great food pics and honest reviews. Oh, if you have the time, check out on you tube magic journeys. They give an honest review of food sold at the parks and DTD. They include the prices too. I like watching them because if they do not like something, they do say they do not like it, but they do not bash the item or anyone who may like it.
Have fun planning your trip!

I like the trio of soups at Jazz Kitchen, but my favorite soup on a Disneyland trip is an offsite excursion to BCD Tofu House in Irvine for some Korean soft tofu soup.
