We'll be going from Atlanta to Art of Animation via I-75 - turnpike. I looked up directions, but every site is giving me a different route. For those who have made the trip, is it usually quicker to exit the turnpike on 429 or go on out to I-4? Also, I found a toll calculator for the turnpike itself, but I didn't find one for 429 which is also a toll road - anyone know offhand how much the toll is on that road?

TIA!

We have taken both routes. I can't say for sure which one is faster, but I would definitely take the 429 route rather than going to I-4. You will have much less traffic. It's actually a really nice way to come into WDW. Exit the turnpike at 429 and then take Western Way into WDW.

IIRC, I think we only hit one toll plaza on 429 when we exited to Western Way, but I can't recall how much it was. DH took care of that so I wasn't really paying attention. Maybe someone local would be able to give you more info on that.

+1 on taking 429 to Western Way. Virtually no traffic every time we've driven through there.

As for Tolls, if you have around $10 in change/cash you would probably be good round trip. I believe you'll pay one toll upon entering the turnpike ($3.00 cash) then will pay another when you get onto 429 ($1.50). No toll to get off on the Hartzog road exit into Disney, and the only other tolls would be if you were trying to exit somewhere between those two toll plazas.

More details about tolls can be found here:
Toll Facilities - PDF. Specifically on pages 3 and 13.
