1. Anyone have any suggestion as to what is the best route of travel for us to take coming from Wisconsin to FW pulling our travel trailer?

2. I have read threads in the past about loop requests and see that people used to recommend faxing in the request directly to FW before arriving. Is this still a good idea? We requested loop 1400 when we made the reservations, but I know that doesn't always get to the people at FW. If faxing is still a good idea, what is the # and when should I do it? We are arriving next Sunday (May 7th).

Thanks!

When we travel with our RV I use Good Sams Trip planner:

http://www.goodsamclub.com/trip.cfm

You might have to register with a email address.

This tells you the best route and keeps you off the ones that you might have a problem like steep grades or low overpasses. I like it because it tell you how long you have traveled and how much longer you have to go. You can also have it calculate your fuel consumption for the trip and it will tell you where the dump stations are if you want.

I have never had a problem getting the loop that I request but I always called before I left to confirm my reservation.

Good Luck and have a great trip!!!! :wave2:

Yahoo Maps came up with this map. The only thing I have to say is avoid Atlanta at rush hour. Plan your trip to go through the metro Atlanta area before 6:30AM or after 7PM. You usually also have a small window between 10a and 2p thats not that bad.

Now, for site/loop requests. Disney is really trying to get out of the "fax in a request" business. Some resorts now just trash them. Make sure your request is noted on your reservation and it does get to the site assigner. Requests with a "reason" behind them add credence, and the probability of fufilment. Someone who is mobility impared asking for a site close to the comfort station or bus stop will get filled before someone saying they heard that the 800 loop was great on the DIS.

My first camping trip to FW was over 30 years ago and I have made many trips back. I can really say I was never disappointed with a loop. Now with that said, make sure all reasonable requests are noted on the reservation. The biggest of which is the size of your RV and any slides/awnings that will need additional space to be utilized. FW was designed in the late 60's, long before 45' Class A's were even a dream. They have been slowly redesigning sites to accomidate today's RVs, but they have to know what you have.

the way we go is not bad at all just got back last weekend.the route we go is
leaving from Hales Corners take I43 to South Beloit to I-39 south to I-55/us51
