My family will be traveling next April from Memphis, TN, what would be the best route to Disney? Also, plan on driving over 2 days (will be traveling with a 7 and 4 year old), will be leaving about 4 PM so where would be a city to stay after driving about 5 to 6 hours? Thanks

still needing opinions of best route from Memphis, TN to Disneyworld? Thanks

Thank you. I have looked up mapquest, google, aol, and other sites, was just trying to get someone's opinion who actually had driven there to help make considerations for traffic, construction etc.

Of course this is all the preference of the driver, some like Interstates , some don't mind US routes. We just moved to central FL from IL, and to avoid the mountains in Chattanooga while hauling a trailer, we opted for the Alabama - Florida panhandle route as shown on the google map. After you get to Montgomery it's all US route that takes you through several small towns, some pretty congested, depending on the time of day you're there. Then when you FINALLY get to the FL panhandle it takes FOREVER to get to I - 75. If I were to do this again I would head east on I-20 @ Birmingham over to Georgia (Bypass Atlanta on I -285) to I-75. I'm sure it's more miles, but at least your muvin. Plenty of nice motels along the way too. Have fun!

I agree with that routing; FUTURE I-22 East to Birmingham, I-65 South to Montgomery, US 231 South to Cottondale via Dothan, then I-10 East to Lake City and then I-75 & the Turnpike to Orlando.
