Hi everyone,

Sorry for this post, since I know its been asked many times before, but the Search Engine is disabled. Just wondering which rooms offer the best view from the Tahiti Longhouse. Planning our third trip to Disney for next April 04 and going to treat ourselves this time to a Lagoon View room!! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. :bounce:

Don't know about exact room numbers but from all the searching I've done for our upcoming trip I've requested Tahiti with "an unobstructed view of the castle." We'll have to see what I get in December.

Hoping I get some more pixie dust this trip. Last year when we went to ASMu I asked to be closest to the main building (paid for regular room) and got Calypso which is preferred.

Tahiti is awesome, you will love it! I don't know if there are any obstructed view rooms, but we loved the first floor. I think our room was 1035. We could walk out the door onto the beach and the kids could play out there while we were still getting ready or drinking our coffee in the room or on the patio. We could wave at the characters going by on the ferry to the MK from the TTC! Dd loved this!! We could see the monorail around the lake, and watch the EWP and the fireworks from our room. We could see the castle change colors at night. Of course, the MK is pretty far away and obscured by the island and the trees at MK, so don't expect these things to be right in front of you in full view. But you can definitely see them! It is a bit of a hike to the GCH, but the TTC is right there, and we liked the more secluded feel of being farther away from the pools and the GCH. This trip we are going to be in concierge in Hawaii, and I am actually a bit sad, since I know it will be a more crowded feel, being closer to the hustle and bustle of the resort. We loved our room location in tahiti, and wouldn't hesitate to request it again.

We stayed in Tahiti RM 3030. It was excellent. Great views of the castle and space mountain.

I can't tell you where every tree is positioned from each room but most all lagoon view rooms from Tahiti are great views and even the bad ones are good views. I will say from my experience of walking the building and from the times I have been in a room in Tahiti I would say the rooms with the not as good view would be the rooms right next to the middle doors leading out to the beach because some plants grow right next to the room (rooms 1029, 2029 and 3029) and the only other ones you may have problems seeing the castle would be the ground level rooms on the east half since I was told the trees on the island have grown and block much of the castle from the ground floor. These rooms would be 1029-1038). Even if you get those rooms the view is still very nice of Space Mtn, the lagoon and the Contemporary as well as the fireworks and if you were on the ground level you could walk right out to the beach for better viewing.

Aloha

Steve

Steve is right. Over the years the trees have grown, but that is the beauty of the resort. We were there in August and stayed in Tahiti room 3020 and had an awesome view of the castle. We could not see Space Mountain unless we walked to the end of the balcony and looked since there was a palm tree blocking it. The people next to us kept yelling and complaining every time they were out in the balcony saying that the d*** trees should be cut, etc. My kids found this to be very funny as they too thought that part of the charm of the Poly is the plam trees. Oh the wisdom of kids!! Although I will say that they might not have been so understanding if we could not see our beloved castle!! LOL!! Anyway, jackhammer, IMHO the higher up you are the better the view. We requested a third floor room and got it. We enjoyed watching the firewords over the castle and I kept getting up all night just to look at the castle!! I'm a big kid at heart! My kids kept saying "Yes Mim it's STILL there!". Well enough of my rambling, I hope you have a wonderful vacation and get a great view of "my" castle!!!

Just wanted to point out that the trees that steve and I referred to are the trees on the island that is in between the MK and the Poly. They aren't palm trees, lol, just general Florida flora. They have grown high enough to block the view partially, even though they are pretty far away across the lake.
I do agree that the palm trees IN the Poly resort are definitely part of the themeing and we love them. (that is, until we ever get a room that is blocked by them, lol)
BTW, I kept getting up at night to look at the castle too!
This next trip we will be in several different rooms and buildings at the Poly, (have to move back and forth 3 times) so I expect to have a different view of the different views when I return.
