Staying at Pop for 7 nights in May 2017. Should we go with a preferred room or a preferred pool view? We've stayed at Pop once, but just in a standard room waaaaaaaaay away from the main building and bus stops. I think we were actually closer to Art of Animation. Anyway, are the pool view rooms noisy?

"Best" is subjective. We like 50's lake view the best. If you like views of pools or quick access to pools, then pool view would be ideal. It's about a 5 or 7 minute walk from 50's lake side to the food court which we don't mind at all, but if a little walking is an issue then you'll want preferred. Preferred to us would be a downgrade from Standard since we like being by hourglass lake, having a great view at night of AofA, and having a good view of fireworks at Hollywood Studios.

The pool preferred location is great but we found it extremely loud. And not just during the day, night too. I will not stay in that location again. My favorite location is 50's lakeside (standard).

Best is certainly subjective!!! I've stayed at Pop 5 or 6 times now. I stayed in a preferred room once...hated it. There was a ton of foot traffic going by our ground level room!!! But, my favorite room was in the 60's section, building 4, level 4, facing AoA!!! Man, it was so quiet and peaceful. It was only about a 7 min walk to the food court. When I stayed in the 50's section, I was about as far away as you can be....bldg 2, top floor, all the way to the end of the building..I watched the buses arriving and departing the resort! Even that room was about 9 mins from the food court.

I stayed in a standard room two weeks ago, and when I did the online check in my preferences were the 70s or 50s buildings. I ended up in the 70s, second floor, Building 6, and I loved it! It was very close to the main lobby. This is the second time I have been in this same building, and it's my favorite. This was my 4th time at Pop, with the 90s being the worst building- it was too far away.

We are staying here for a short trip in late September and I picked "close to transportation" and ground floor as my only two on line check in preferences. Hoping I am in outside NE wing of the 70's or NE 80's so that I can cut across to the bus pick up.

Thanks for all the input! I think we were in the 50's last time. Maybe it seemed farther away than it actually was because at the time we had an 18 month old who wanted to walk everywhere o_O.

We've stayed in Bldg. 2 of the 50's section one time and we felt like it was a huge hike from our room to the bus stops/food court since those are both located at the far end of the main building. On our next trip, we were assigned a room in that building again and I asked for better location. We were moved to Bldg. 9 in the 80's section. That was a decent location. It was a quick walk through the parking lot (and there was rarely any traffic in that parking lot) to the bus stops and the walk to the food court wasn't that bad either. And the pool was just around the corner as well. However, our favorite location was Bldg. 4 in the 60's. We had a lakeview top floor room 2 doors down from the elevator. It was a quick walk to everything and it was a quiet location. If we ever stay there again, that's the location I would request. That location now also has the advantage of being close to the bridge over to AoA which makes it easier to take the bus back to AoA from a park if that line is shorter than Pop's.
