Best rooms at Hilton Head Island HELP?

I am going to HHI at the end of February, and I will like to know where are the better rooms, I have never been there, but I 've heard that there are rooms right next to the main building and others are pretty far, is this true? Also are there a lot of activities for kids 4 and 7? Help anyone. Thanks

Which size villa are you looking for. I have room reports on lots of the villas at HHI. But remember that it isn't a big spread out resort. No where is terribly far away. And the Main Building has the check-in and Big Murgie's Den (where the pool table is), but the swimming pool, fast food, work out room, and community hall aren't there-those are at a building in the middle of the resort.

HH is a relatively small resort. There are only 102 units. The main building is comprised of 1BR and studios, some of which are handicapped rooms. Most visitors request marsh view units. I would also request a top floor as there are certain units where the foliage impedes the view. It's a lovely resort with plenty of activities for children.

I believe they have a campfire and a Dolphin Cruise. I have also been looking at this, and I wonder if anyone misses the direct beach access, and can you go the beach anytime you want. We like walks on the beach very early in the morning. Can you drive to the beach area if you want, or just Disney Transportation?

Most people that have posted opinions on HH have commented that they have not missed the beachfront access. Your key card will allow you access to the beach house at your leisure. The beach itself is a public beach, so you can access it without going into the Beach House. You can drive there or take a bike ride over. It's about 1.8 miles from the resort to the beach. "Disney transportation" consists of a shuttle van that runs on request between 8:30 and 4:30, so if you want to catch the sunrise or sunset, you'll need to depend on alternate means of transportation.
