I,ve got a 1 bedroom booked for a week at The Villa's.
Any thoughts on room requests for views or ease of use? It's our first trip there and we can't wait!

most are woods view - you want to request near the elevators on the lake side - bad views are on the other side

if you can get a lake or swimming pool view these are probably the best views - but they are very, very, very few.

As Pat said, most are woods views but here is some other info that might help you.

This is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/wildernesslodge.pdf This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. It is extremely difficult to ask for a specific room (as well as trying on the CM’s). With the new room ready policy, guests have reported getting several choices at check-in and this may than help

I have also created a sheet that just has some highlights of rooms that may not work for everyones needs. You might find that helpful instead:

The files are in adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Ahhhhhh...it's been awhile since anyone asked about VWL views!

Gives me a chance to post the picture from Disneypix.com....VWL is the building with the red roof.

As has been pointed out, most views are of the woods.

Some people like to request to be near the elevators, though to be honest it's a pretty small resort so even the farthest room isn't all that long of a walk.

Enjoy your trip! :)

If you want to check out the view from Villa 4535 check out the room tour I have posted on my site.

outdated link: http://www.mikescott8.net/disney/roomtours.aspx
Current link: http://photos.mikescott8.net/ms8photos/default.aspx?aid=13

The last two pictures are of the view. It will give you an indication of views from that area of the resort.

If you use the room number pdf other posted a link to you can see where 4535 is.

DW and I really enjoyed the room and the view. You can hear the Electrical Water Parade(is this name right?) from the balcony, but could not see it, just a light here or there between the trees.

Great picture Granny ::yes::

I have a question to add for all you VWL experts. If I'm not mistaken, the only lake view rooms are right next to the elevation and the ice machine, no more than 3-4 per floor depending on the layout. Is the noise a problem, either from the elevator or people fetching ice late at night or early in the morning?

Thanks:earboy2:

You are correct, there are a handful of rooms that overlook the quiet pool that have a partial lake view. You can see the quiet pool and those rooms in this picture:

Okay, I was just looking for an excuse to post another of those great photos!

You can see that they still only have a little view of the lake.

As for noise, we stayed in one of those rooms the last time and they are far enough off of the quiet pool that we didn't notice much noise, especially with the balcony doors closed.

Never heard the elevator or the ice people! :p

DH and I had a woods view on our very first trip home and we just loved it. We were on the first floor and it was SOOOO peaceful to sit on our patio - no bugs, just those cute little lizards. I LOVED it out there.

Granny: Thanks for the photos again. I just love them! VWL is probably my favorite place to stay. Can't wait for our Oct. trip.

We've been in the 1 BR right next to the elevator on 2 trips (and the next room on 1 trip) and never noticed any noise at all. I think the ice machine is around the corner from that (never needed to know, since we had our own ice) so it's further away.

we had a pretty great view in out last (and only) 1-bedroom at VWL - the only noise problem was the EWP - that thing is pretty loud.....
