Best room rates for December

What is the best rate (per night) received for a room at the Contemporary resort in December? I'm currently booked for a wing room at the Contemporary but I am looking for a better rate and switching to a room in the tower. Also, I have an annual pass.

It's too early for anything but AAA or DC rates in December. There's no guarantee that there will be AP rates or even codes this Dec. Last year was the first year ANYONE had ever heard of any discounts for that month. You just can't count on them being available.

Your best bet is to reserve what you are comfortable with, and then watch the boards for codes or the AP rates. People will post when they find out. My best guess is that we won't see AP rates (IF they are going to be available) till September sometime. Codes...probably the same timeframe, possibly August. It all depends on how full the resorts are and if Disney decides they need to have a code to bring people in.

Book what you can now and if a new discount comes out you can always call CRO and have them apply it to your existing ressie.

We have been going to WDW in early December since 1992. The first couple of years we paid rack rate because we didn't know about codes, discounts, etc.. Each year since 1994 we have received a nice discount for our room. Last year was the first year that we got a discount using the AP rate. Other years they have offered holiday discount codes. Keep your eye on these boards and mousesavers and something will probably pop-up in a few months. The past room rates that we have gotten were about the same as AP rates.

I'll be looking also.

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that AP discounts may not be available for some of the resorts (deluxe). I have the DC discount for the Contemporary resort already so I guess I will have to settle with that rate for now. Thanks again for the assistance.

It's not that AP rates aren't available for deluxes - in general AP rates apply to ALL resorts. It's just that December never seems to eke out AP rates at all. Before 2001, in December there used to be a Magical Holidays Package, which had phenomenal room rates and tix to MVMCP or maybe one other perk. If this becomes available, snatch it up. But it's just too early to say if anything better than DC is going to be available. You can be sure that it will be reported on these boards first thing though.
