Best room location to request for AKV - Jambo savannah view

Staying in Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House with a savannah view room. I want the best view of the animals as possible (of course). I've heard Arusha along the Zebra trail is the best. Is that still true?

Under requests on my online check in, it just has lower floor, near elevator, and near lobby, which don't seem particularly helpful to me. But I'd like to start there then call in my request for even more specific, so what should I choose for online check in and what should I ask for in person or via fax?

I just got back from Jambo. (NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL). But Had a view on Sunset Savannah. Had Giraffes and Zebras mostly.

AKL did not adhere to any requests and tried sticking me in a room at end of Kudu trail with ZERO VIEW. Will not ever return there.

If you book Standard view ask for Kudu trail.
If you book Savannah request Sunset Savannah or Arusha. Zebra trail is the most convienent by far.

My point was that this resort does not adhere to requests. If you get a bad room definetely return to front desk and ask for a change.

Near elevator lower floor is a good request - the elevator is down the trail/hall so that puts you away from Arusha rock which juts out into Arusha savanna a bit but not at the very end of the trail/hall.
If you choose to call/fax then Zebra trail Arusha view is a popular request, not because the animal viewing is ‘best’ per se, but because that’s the side of the resort where the qs restaurant the Mara and the pool is located, so Zebra trail is convenient. Arusha is the middle savanna and does not have any people pens, all 3 savannas visible from Jambo (Arusha visible from Kudu trail and Zebra trail; Uzima visible from Zebra trail; Sunset visible from Ostrich and Kudu trails) have giraffes and at least a pair of zebras plus other animals, so personally I don’t have a favorite savanna. I think they assign the rooms a couple of days before arrival so if you are calling/faxing a request best do it sooner rather than later.

There is no point to "lower floor;" all DVC units at Jambo are on the same floor.

The big issue at Jambo (and Kidani, really) is that the online requests are useless, and a lot of people ask for very similar stuff. A request is just that: A request. It's not a booking category.

Oops - agree, read this when it was in the ‘resorts’ section and missed that OP was staying DVC at Jambo. 5th floor it will be, unless Club/6th.
