I'm going with my DW, 5 year old and 3 year old, and would like to be close to the pools/food courts so we don't have to walk too far to get to everything. Any building/room suggestions? I've heard the Alligator Bayou section might be a good choice but not sure if one building is better than another. Thanks!

The best building in AB is bldg. 14. However, it is reserved for the physically challenged guests so it is hard to get in . Bldg. 15, and I think 18 are also close. Bldg. 16 might not be bad either. If you have a water view then Bldg. 18 is a great location. Waterview rooms are right by the path, I think, that leads to the food court and main building. There is also a quiet pool by Bldg. 16, I think.

We stayed in Bldg. 15 on the side away from the parking lot. It was close to the bus stop, main building/food court and fairly close to the main pool. Some rooms in that bldg. are very close to the parking lot and that made me nervous with a small one. Didn't seem to bother my hubby, though.

You can put as many requests on your ressie as you want in but put them in order of preference. I would also recommend a first floor room. There are no elevators in the AB section of the hotel. You would be climbing stairs and the load gets pretty heavy in the evening with kids.

Hope that helps. You can view a map of the resort on this site. That will give you a better idea of what I am talking about in relationship to these buildings. Some say that there is a mansion or two that is close but since we didn't stay there I'm not sure. The AB section was ideal, though, with a 3 year old.

HI! In 1999 and 2000, I stayed in building 27 in AB. It's right in the middle of the food court and pool. There is also a bus stop located near by. We loved this building because there is also a quiet pool right outside. It was beautiful. Click here ofr resort map: http://www.wdwig.com/dxlmap.jpg

If you consider the mansions Magnolia terrace is very close to a quiet pool, the bridge to the theme pool is right there and the food court is just past the theme pool. There is also a playground beside the theme pool.Hope this helps,as you are a family of 4 this is an option since you do not need the trundle bed.Plus the laundry room is at the quiet pool,a short walk from the building.

We also stayed in Building 27 in December and it's right on the river. A great view and also a wonderful walk to the food court.

If you can't get closer this is a very good choice, for the A.Bayou section.
