Best Romantic Dinner besides V&A ?

We are going to be celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary and will be leaving DS at one of the child care centers one or two afternoons so we can spend time alone

We want a quite romantic dinner. It does not have to be on the dinning plan.

I would go to a restaurant not on the dining plan then as they have a tendency to be a bit quieter and the food is certainly better. My top 3 choices would be

bluezoo
Il Mulino
Bistro de Paris

Of Disney's restaurants, I think Citricos is probably the best bet. We've had some nice meals there too. Jiko could be another option. If you dine later, it is sometimes pretty nice.

Shula's (with Sinatra singing in the background) is rather dark and quiet--but the football photos all around do detract a bit from the romantic feel. For sure there will be very few--if any--kids in the restaurant.

Without question, I would choose Bistro de Paris. It is second only to V&A (and not on the dining plan).

Narcoosees. Good food, adult atmosphere, right on the water. If you get a late enough ADR you can see wishes from there.

We did the same thing last year and went to California Grill. We were lucky enough to get a window table and were in heaven.

Doesn't mean a thing. There are always going to be small children at Bistro de Paris, since it's a restaurant in a theme park. They'll offer the Chefs de France kids' menu to them. I even saw a ton of kids at Il Mulino around 7pm just this past Saturday. The restaurant still has a romantic feel to it, though, and the kids around me were all well behaved.

I think that places that have dimmed lighting seem more romantic, so places like Jiko, Il Mulino and Todd English's bluezoo™ pop up in my mind as being romantic.

Blue Zoo. Very, very tasty, exceptional service and it's not "theme park food."

DH & I ate at Bistro three years ago for our anniversary. We were extremely disappointed. Snobby waiter, overcooked lobster, undercooked risotto and a strange child who invaded our space to watch the fireworks with us!

It's rare that DH & I completely agree on meals, but we both said if we only had one night in O-Town for a special meal, we'd have it at Blue Zoo.

We loved the Cali Grill one of the best meals we had our whole trip and the view of the fireworks is fantastic. Food and service could not be faulted.


San Angel inn is another favourite of ours its very dark and can be romantic if you get a table by the water. Again good service and food.

Yes, there may be small children at Bistro. The difference is that it's not on the dining plan, since many of the families with small children are, and also that it's expensive.

i agree with all of the above places. my only comment would be to make your reservation at a later time in the evening when you have more of an adult crowd. i think the biggest advantage that california grill has is that you can tie in watching the fireworks from the observation deck.

Our favorite: Start with a drink at the bar then ask to be seated at a table for 2 at Il Mulinos. Very contemporary and Italian chic. A bottle of Preseco to toast and lemoncello after dinner...ooohh yeah, (if you know what I mean...lol )

I vote for Shulas. We've had anniversary and Valentine's Day dinners there and it is dark and usually pretty quiet. The football photos don't detract from the atmosphere for us. I'd much rather be there than CG, which has a wonderful view but is soooo loud. The last time I was at Citricos (several years ago) it was pretty empty and would have made for a nice romantic evening.

California Grill. Best meal I've ever had at WDW. Made a late ADR (9:20pm) and there was nary a kid in the place. Our waiter was fantastic. Food was amazing. Fireworks were spectacular.
