best road map

hi all
New to this forum, arriving Sanford airport 25 jun about 9.00pm local time i'm a bit concerned about driving night time. this might be a silly question but what time does it get dark ?. Also whats the best road map to purchase ?.Any help much appreciated

It will be dark by about 6.15pm, but I wouldn't worry too much. The road from Sanford Airport is a spacious toll road. Just take your time and make sure you familiarise yourself with the car controls and directions before you leave.

They should give you a map at the car rental desk, but ask for one if they don't. If you want to check out your route before you leave, the Orlando City Slicker should be detailed enough. You can buy one online at www.trakkermaps.com. It's a plasticised concertina map with maps of WDW, I Drive and Downtown Orlando on one side and one of the whole area on the other ($5.95). They also do a more detailed fold-up map of the entire Orlando area, but I find it too cumbersome - it's about 3 feet square when unfolded ($4.95). If you want to go the whole hog, there is also a proper spiral bound street atlas ($19.95). I can't remember what I paid in p&p, but it wasn't that much.

There are plenty available on Amazon, but it's difficult to tell what they're like. Smiths and bookshops also sell them.

I'm not sure but I think 6:15pm is a bit early for it to get dark in June.

This site suggests that sunset will not be until naerly 9pm.

Although even if I am right, you'll still be arriving in the dark.

Just another vote for the site Mike has posted - I printed out the photo directions from MCO and my navigationally challenged DH (I do the driving) managed perfectly.

I've never found a good road map. Sometimes roads are just missed off, or are a completely different shape on two different maps! Very disconcerting.
