Best rides for toddlers

What are the best rides for toddlers and what should I avoid? I got most of our FP + for character meets. That may be a big mistake if they turn out to be scared of them. I won't know until we get there. The 2 yr old is terrified of the Easter bunny. We have been watching parades on you tube and looking at photos of kids with characters.

We went last year when our DD was almost 3. We did mostly M&Gs too.....she was shy and didn't talk to them but she hugged them!

She had never been to a theme park before. We get to MK and she started crying on the monorail! We thought we were doomed! We eased her in to the ride idea with Winnie the Pooh. She loved it! From then on she was game to anything. Also loved IASW, the Jungle Cruise, the Teacups, the Carousel, Ariel and, surprisingly, Haunted Mansion (hated the stretching room intro though).

My 2 year old daughter was scared of Characters at Aulani Disney resort. For Disneyworld, we got her a character book for photos and autographs and she loved it. I had to buy 2 autograph books she wanted to meet the characters all the time. We had to go see Mickey Mouse and a few other daily, and she had to have them sign each time

For rides. MK, good rides are a Dumbo (you can ride too), and I agree with all,the ones above (except Haunted Mansion). My daughter liked Buzz Lightyear too.

It would be handy if there was a list of rides without height restrictions. There's probably one somewhere, but I haven't found it yet

At the MK the only thing that most kids cannot go on (38") are all the Mountains, Barnstormer, and the Dwarves coaster.

At MK, Jungle Cruise, the train that goes around the park, people mover, little mermaid, don't forget shows like Country Bear Jamboree and the Tiki Room! Air conditioning

The barnstormer is 35", the dwarfs coaster is 38", and big thunder is 40".

At 2.5, my son could have gone on barnstormer. He was just 35.5", and he was one of the smallest in my group of friends, coming in at the 25th percentile. Now at 4 he is just about 40", and still at the same percentile.

We watched a few rides on you tube ahead of time. DS and DD both around that age LOVED small world. DS particularly loved watching the clock in the queue.

When we went for our day trip for his 4th birthday, he rode the teacups, Dumbo, IASW, and the railroad train.

This time (he'll be 4.5) we will be there for a few days and have FP+ so we plan on doing the above and also Peter Pan, Pirates (although I'm still not 100% sure about this one), Winnie the Pooh, Buzz (we tried to do this last time but the wait was too long), and The Little Mermaid.

The only one we will definitely NOT be doing is the Haunted Mansion. I've been searching rides on youtube and it has helped make decisions on what may or may not be too scary for him.

My reference to 38" was the minimum height requirement needed for the bigger rides. My kids at 15 months last year rode everything but the ones I listed above. Right now (at almost 2 1/2), one is 35 inches, the other is 34.5 inches. I don't think I'd get them on any of the coasters anyway. They loved Small World, Pirates, Dumbo (HUGE hit), Peoplemover, Jungle Cruise, Pooh, and of course the Railroad.

The only one at that age that kid of freaked them out was Peter Pan. The flying, I guess??? We couldn't figure that one out.

If you go to the website and look under attractions, there is a filter for any height. You have to click more options to get that option.

My son loved everything he rode (at 2.5) except the teacups. We only went on the rides for any height, including the haunted mansion and pirates.
